What did you love best about Mary Poppins?

I am happy to have finally found a set of stories in French. Although my French isn't great and I only have the movie to compare it to the translation seems good.

What does Marlène Jobert bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I wouldn't have been able to pronounce everything properly for my kids.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

At 15 min It is hard not to listen to it all in one sitting.

The recording was obviously done so that people could read it too ("when you hear this sound please turn the page") but there are no pages to turn. I end up finding the McDonald's jingle through out the recording a little invasive if I'm not turning pages.I was hoping that the "series" would mean more Mary Poppins stories. In the end it means other books entirely.

I always loved the Wizard of Oz.

Ms. Hathaway brings the book to life. Who would of a valley girl stork? My daughter couldn't get enough of the "good witch story."

Too bad it didn't work for my two year old. It was worth a try. She loves the story though.

Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favorite?

The narrators took turns reading sections of the book. To be honest I didn't realize that was happening at first. Everyone did such a good job.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There were numerous parts in the story that made me laugh out loud. I think you may need to be a geek or serious friends with a geek to get those jokes.

I loved the book. My only mistake was starting to listen to it before the rest of the series was out. As always Mr. Card sets up the next book perfectly so you want to go straight into it. Now I have to wait.

I bought this book because everyone I talked with raved about it. It seemed like a story that I would enjoy. I rarely give up on a book but I just couldn't bring myself to finish this one. I can't tell if it was the narrator or just that the story didn't seem to move. I never got past the kindergarten years.
