Historia
Begiloc, a young freedman from Wimborne, is a man of action. But his world turns upside down when the young Briton and his best friend Meryn are ordered away to protect English missionaries in Germany. For a man accustomed to brutality, Begiloc has a soft spot for the purple-tinged mountains, waterfalls, lakes, animals, trees and flowers - beginning to muse whether they, rather than man, do not better embody the essence of God.

Great adventure into the 8th century!

Great epic, with great word-pictures. Shop this to Netflix-- it would make a multi-season hit. Many thanks! Cheers, and God's blessings.

Historia
Almost half a century ago, a young reporter from Germany arrived in still-glamorous Saigon to cover the Vietnam War over a period of five years. In this memoir, he tells the story of how he fell in love with the Vietnamese people. He praises the beauty, elegance, and feistiness of their women. He describes blood-curdling Communist atrocities and fierce combat scenes he witnessed. He introduces a striking array of characters: heroes, villains, statesmen and spooks, hilarious eccentrics, street urchins, and orphans herding water buffalos.

The Vietnam that most never knew
Revisado: 11-16-20
This was a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience.
Uwe Simon-Netto's Vietnam war experience is unique, unless you were there and experienced it yourself. The writing is superb, and each chapter was like finding another Easter egg! It was engaging and addictive. This was a refreshing look at a war and a people that the media seems to have serially misrepresented. Thank you for taking me into a time machine with you and letting me experience these wonderful people whom Communistic Totalitarianism tried to crush. This can happen here in the U.S., and many are trying to make it happen, so pray that it never will.
