Historia
It's 1753, the golden age of piracy is dead along with its famous Pirate Captains, still pirates are sailing the seas and Pirate Captain Nathanael Blackthorne is "out there" doing what he does best captaining, the Ciara Morganse, seeking revenge, when Providence dumps a treasure on his deck, Cate Mackenzie, a Jacobite War criminal. It's a story of people, scared of both spirit and flesh, coming to grips with that ol' demon, Trust. It's the story of what a man will do to preserve his most treasured. It's the story of what a woman will risk to gain what she desires most.

it is hard to find good full-production audiobooks, this one is well done! I love the sounds of life at sea in the eighteenth century. I spent a year on a square rigger, and this took me back to Sea. just a fun listen, can't wait for the next one!!

Historia
Riley Denton-Everett always felt like something was missing in her life—and her numerous odd jobs and short-lived relationships haven’t brought her any closer to finding it. Everything changes when she receives a mysterious message: You’re a Denton. You belong on Starfall Point. Once you’re here, I’ll tell you everything you need to know. When Riley arrives on the island, she learns her aunt has left her a historic mansion brimming with haunted antiques. Turns out, that’s not the only thing she’s inherited. Riley also hails from a long line of witches.

Fun story, narration falls short.
Revisado: 11-03-23
I really enjoyed the story, loads of fun! the narration, however, was hard to get past. Both characters, Riley and Edison, are read by both narrators, very confusing, and hard to get to know the characters. two voices for each character does not work, pick a lane!! Riley should be read by the female narrator and Edison by the male narrator, the end. Hard to finish

Revisado: 09-24-23
The narration is actual torture.
It is very unfortunate that the two books in this series narrated by Nicolas Coster can't be re-recorded by Christian Rodska. Coster absolutely ruined Hotspur and Atropos. He is overly loud with some characters and inaudible with others, perhaps just bad sound engineering. No passion, and no excitement where required in the story, and it's hard to differentiate characters...TERRIBLE. His narration is AGONIZINGLY slow, but not bad if you speed it up. PLEASE RE-RECORD!!! I'll say it again...Coster absolutely ruined Hotspur and Atropos. I had to return this title and read the book. I didn't want to miss anything from this great series. I listened to all the books narrated by Rodska, and felt like I was missing too much of the story, that's why I thought I would take a chance on Hotspur...don't make the same mistake that I did!

Historia
The story of Tang and her gallant crew ranks with the most amazing of naval history. Between August 1943 when she was commissioned and her loss in fall 1944, Tang completed four missions and was on her fifth in the Formosa Strait, single-handedly demolishing a convey. During this time, Tang had one captain: Commander Richard Hetherington O'Kane. Together, Tang, her crew of 86 men, and her captain sank more tonnage and more enemy ships than any other submarine on active patrol.

Great story, narration no so much
Revisado: 10-01-22
I found this very hard to finish. Narrator was too flat and did not put any enthusiasm into an exciting story. They should have had R C Bray narrate it! the story is interesting but I found it difficult to follow the gaps of the story, perhaps that was just the narrator. If you love WWII history it's worth a listen.

Historia
July 1863. The Confederate Army of Northern Virginia is invading the North. General Robert E. Lee has made this daring and massive move with seventy thousand men in a determined effort to draw out the Union Army of the Potomac and mortally wound it. His right hand is General James Longstreet, a brooding man who is loyal to Lee but stubbornly argues against his plan. Opposing them is an unknown factor: General George Meade, who has taken command of the Army only two days before what will be perhaps the crucial battle of the Civil War.

Fabulously told story - Great Narration!
Revisado: 06-24-20
This is so well done, it is how other books should be read. He does such a great job of each of the characters and Nails the southern and northern accents, wow!!
In addition to the narration, this may be the best historical novel I have ever read. What an amazing place and time in history, it really makes you feel how it was on both sides.

Historia
This audiobook is the classic one-volume history of the American Civil War by Pulitzer Prize winner Bruce Catton. Covering events from the prelude of the conflict to the death of Lincoln, Catton blends a gripping narrative with deep, yet unassuming, scholarship to bring the war alive in an almost novelistic way. It is this gift for narrative that led contemporary critics to compare this book to War and Peace, and call it a "modern Iliad." Now over 50 years old, This Hallowed Ground remains one of the best-loved and admired general Civil War books.

Good Telling of the Civil War
Revisado: 06-24-20
Good Telling of the Civil War, but the narration is really hard to listen to. Very droning voice, monotone, and almost sounds like a computer. Kind of ruins a good story and a good account of the war.
