Historia
12-year-old Aidan Errolson, comes from a long line of adventurers. His grandparents were among the first settlers of Corenwald's Eastern Frontier. His father had been one of the kingdom's greatest warriors. Aidan, on the other hand, lives the quiet, comfortable life, of a nobleman's son. He never has any real adventures, and that, he believes, is the one great injustice of his otherwise happy life. All that will change the day he first hears the bark of the bog owl, and meets Dobro Turtlebane.

Excellent Book! Amazing Story for Boys!
Revisado: 07-07-24
I can't wait for my children to read this book! Just finished pre-reading it for my children and loved it! My favourite part was the retelling of the story of King David as a boy. Jonathan Rogers masterfully brings to life the heroic heart of Aidan and made me tear up as his noble and faithful character shines through. This book is written and read beautifully and while I can't wait to share this with my daughters, I am even more excited for my sons to hear it.

So good!
Revisado: 12-30-23
After listening to some of the other excellent books Dan Stevens has recorded, I found this one. He does such an amazing job and really brings each character to life. The story is good-- twisted enough to be creepy without being too graphic.. Agatha Christie does not disappoint.

Not What I Was Hoping For.
Revisado: 06-23-23
This book began in a promising way, the author can write in a very funny, very witty way. But as the book continued, the story became predominantly about how one character was desiring the other and the story became muddled and the plot became an afterthought. Overall not the best story.

Historia
Deep down here by the dark water lived old Gollum, a small slimy creature. I don’t know where he came from, nor who or what he was. He was Gollum—as dark as darkness, except for two big round pale eyes in his thin face. He had a little boat, and he rowed about quite quietly on the lake; for lake it was, wide and deep and deadly cold.

Good Narrator, Boring Story.
Revisado: 02-28-23
The narrator did such a good job. Unfortunately, however, I found the story to be quite predictable, dull, and without much depth. My favourite parts about clean period/historical romance novels are their ability to sweep me off of my feet, transport me to another time, and capture my heart with the story. This book did none of these things.
