Historia
Dr. Hugh Meyer believed he had created the ultimate miracle. Using the DNA of ancient creatures preserved in the Arctic, he had genetically engineered one of the most remarkable species of sea creature to ever exist: the Serpent Eel. Believed to possess the cure for countless diseases, the creature holds great promise for the medical community. All goes awry when the beast escapes containment. With a rapid growth rate and remarkable physical evolution, the beast travels to the coastal town of Spiral Bay. There, the creature designed to save human life instead starts taking it.

It’s good for what it is!
Revisado: 09-12-24
So this is my second Michael Cole book. I’m pretty sure this dude loves fishing at this point as he now had multiple protagonists who love to fish… this time he doubled down with a big time fishing reality show lol. But ya know what I’ll take it. Wasn’t as much of his “old man yelling at clouds” undertones in this so is was law enforcement and fishing dudes vs. a decently thought out monster.
I guess what makes his books kinda fascinating for me is it reminds me of those writing classes where the teacher says, write like you have an unlimited budget …. But to a right wing dude that loves to fish lol. That said, it all sizzles together into a decent Syfy channel monster flick experience that’s a decent background listen.

Historia
In June 1993, a group of young guerilla filmmakers spent four weeks making Horror Movie, a notorious, disturbing, art-house horror flick. The weird part? Only three of the film’s scenes were ever released to the public, but Horror Movie has nevertheless grown a rabid fanbase. Three decades later, Hollywood is pushing for a big budget reboot.

A story for any horror filmmaker
Revisado: 08-27-24
I bought this book because I’ve shot a few horror short films so I thought the it would be meta.
I WAS NOT WRONG
if you’ve ever produced or acted a indie film or short horror film, this book will jostle a subtle nostalgia as it meanders towards it final act.
It was fun to jump between two different eras and financial levels of a movie shoot and the main character … well we’ve all met a guy like that before lol
Great listen kinda soft horror but a decent payoff with killer dialogue,

Historia
Lorenzo was a quiet Michigan town, known for its beautiful lake and resorts. Summer has arrived and water activities are abundant. It was one of the reasons Officer Royce Dashnaw took the job in the small town. Being a single dad, he wanted to live a quiet life where his daughter could enjoy the beauty of nature. Unfortunately, nature also has a dark side. The serenity of Lorenzo has been disrupted by a series of strange events. A woman flees from the water with strange bites on her legs; bodies are found in the shallows, stripped to the bone; and the local fish have disappeared.

Nothing new but confident in its storytelling
Revisado: 08-27-24
I like Michael Cole, these monster stories are fun descriptive and he nails trope characters
I guess what dismays me about this book a bit is all the callbacks and dog whistles against “woke” culture.
On one end , it kinda feels like the mindset to the character which is a traditional Blue Lives matter type police officer. On the other hand it can be distracting as if an old man who yells at clouds has been given reigns of the the characters. Still not a bad read from an ok author. Will continue to explore as creature features are my jam.
Thanks for reading✊🏾

The Scottish Highlands: a sparse, mountainous region some say was carved by the gods themselves. Few places are as untouched as this harsh, prehistoric landscape. It is no place for man. But nestled deep within the wilderness lies a cottage, and behind that cottage is a hill....

Different enough to return to the apocalypse genre
Revisado: 01-10-24
Ian Rob Wright nailed this series. Great characters, interesting enough enemy and one heck of an emotional hero’s journey. I’m American so the Scottish accent was a little rough at first but trust me when I say overall it adds to the story. You can get all these books for one credit so I would say it’s got a lotta bang for the buck. Thanks

It’s not as deep as Dagon but it’s kinda fun 🤷🏽♂️
Revisado: 04-06-22
So I like Clickers, but for all the wrong reasons.
It’s not high brow science fi horror and has more ham and cheese than southern lunchbox.
The beauty of Clickers is that its fun.
The Characters lean into their cliches. How the goodfellas guy became the focus of this book I have no idea but I just went with it and it was like watching low budget horror flick… like the authors promised.
It’s a fun , silly semi problematic at times ride that feels like it was written in the late nineties.

I’ll keep it short. This deserves a movie trilogy, series ,video game, or anime lol. The most epic in all the expanded lore. Good stuff.
