Great story and narration!

I have been in a little bit of a book slump lately and originally did not have high expectations for this audiobook... boy, was I surprised. I throughly enjoyed this grumpy/sunshine, "pay for play", steamy college dorm-mates story. It was very well written and I smiled continuously while listening. The narration was excellent by both Kirt and Shannon! I look forward to reading and listening to more from this author. A solid 5 stars from me.

4.5 Stars ...Werewolves, BDSM and Pack politics

So glad D.J. Heart finally did an audiobook of his work and I would love to listen to more! If you like a bit of the rougher side of BDSM, Alpha attitudes, knotting and a submissive Omega, you'll love this book that has both heart and heat. The narration was very good and I would enjoy listening to more if this was an expanded series, a few good side characters make me think it could be a possibility!

Bad Narration... Audiobook only review

This is the second time I have listened to this whole series, the story is good but the narration really takes away from the stories (I forgot how bad the narration was and listened anyway). The mispronunciation is rampant, almost every paragraph has an error, either just plain pronunciation problems or completely placing wrong emphasis on the syllables of a word. My eyes were rolling so much during this book that I decided to skip several cringeworthy chapters. Each book has the same issues, the problems not improving but getting worse. The voice/accent for each character is problematic throughout the series with this being the worse. I wholeheartedly agree with another reviewer who said, I didn't realize Elves were from New Jersey. If you are listening to the complete series, just "eye read" this one, skip the audiobook and save a credit.

The world building at the beginning of this story was very confusing, what it really needed was a glossary! Sadly no steam either. Kirt did a great job with his narration, but even that couldn't save this book.

part 2, better

I hate being manipulated! This author has the first book in this series at 3 hours and this second book, 4 hours, is the continuation. I only listened to the second because I had already purchased it during a sale. This second audiobook continues with great kinky sex and less angst than the first audiobook. Had I not previously purchased this one, I would have never listened to this second part. The author should have combined the two, deleted the "big misunderstanding" in the first book, then the combo of the two would have made a Much Better Book! The kinks in this book are good, with a wonderful description of fisting in this one.

Not as good as expected. 2 stars

As much as I love L.A. Witt's other works, I was disappointed in this one. I found it to be a little too wordy, repetitive and a bit preachy. It was a struggle for me to finish and as much as I think anxiety, panic attacks and migraine headaches are important topics, this was a little overbearing. I did love the meet/cute premise, creative and well done. The narration by Greg Boudreaux and Michael Ferraiuolo was top notch!
