Historia
Stephanie Plum is thinking her career as a fugitive apprehension agent has run its course. She's been shot at, spat at, cussed at, fire-bombed, mooned, and attacked by dogs. Time for a change, Stephanie thinks. Time to find the kind of job her mother can tell her friends about without making the sign of the cross. So Stephanie Plum quits. Resigns. No looking back. No changing her mind. She wants something safe and normal. As it turns out, jobs that are safe and normal for most people aren't necessarily safe and normal for Stephanie Plum.

Love Janet Evanovich hilarious Stephanie Plum books but the narrator killed her
Revisado: 11-03-19
I don’t know how narrators are chosen but whoever picked this 45-year-old to portray Stephanie Plum must be crazy. Stephanie is a very funny 27-year-old gal from Jersey who lives and breathes Jersey and is telling you about her life. she also has two drop dead handsome guys eating out of her hand. The narrator is at least 45 with perfect diction who has never even heard of Jersey or met a guy like Ranger on her best day! Come on, totally ruined the story!

Historia
The Goldfinch is a haunted odyssey through present-day America and a drama of enthralling force and acuity. It begins with a boy. Theo Decker, a 13-year-old New Yorker, miraculously survives an accident that kills his mother. Abandoned by his father, Theo is taken in by the family of a wealthy friend. Bewildered by his strange new home on Park Avenue, disturbed by schoolmates who don't know how to talk to him, and tormented above all by his unbearable longing for his mother, he clings to one thing that reminds him of her: a small, mysteriously captivating painting that ultimately draws Theo into the underworld of art.

This was blah, blah, blah boring from start to end
Revisado: 07-17-14
I ordered this book because it was a best seller. All I can say is listeners must not expect much if this is considered interesting, much less worth listening to. It's a hard luck story of a young boy and never improves.

Seems to be needlessly drawn out with something ALWAYS, ALWAYS standing in the way of our heroin discovering the obvious. It's a very tedious listen.

Hilarious and fun
Revisado: 08-28-12
I love a good series because once you find a great main character, which Suki Stackhouse definitely is, a lot of the guesswork is taken out of one's next choice. The narration by Johanna Parker is one of the best I've ever listened to. She captures the point of view, mood and fun of the character perfectly. I also like how the author keeps the storyline moving along, introduces new and interesting characters, and leaves enough 'unknown' to motivate the listener to keep going. I have now listened to 4 from this series and can't wait for my credits to renew to get my next one.

not a favorite
Revisado: 06-10-12
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No, I wouldn't. Very plodding story line. I got bored way before the last download section and didn't even bother. It was doom and gloom from the start and I found nothing to motivate me towards hearing the last. I can't even rate the Performance honestly because I so disliked the story.I hate buying a book I don't even want to finish because it's such a waste of time and money. sorry folks, wish I had liked it.
What could Dan Simmons have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Have an interesting plot line and more dimensions to the characters
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Nothing could save it
Could you see Hyperion being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
I hope not

Very slow story about nothing
Revisado: 09-09-10
I was very much looking forward to listening to this book because I had read other books in this series and found them amusing and interesting. I was very disappointed by both the Author and especially by the narrator, Lisette Lecat, who was not only exceedingly s-l-o-w, but pronounced every 'M' as MMMMMM, until I couldn't stand to hear another word, even when I put my Ipod on 'faster' speed. It was so slow and boring I couldn't even tell you what it was about.

Unending dreariness plagues this book
Revisado: 09-09-10
I kept waiting for some small ray of hope to relieve the total doom and gloom of this book. From beginning to end, it is full of hopelessness. It become tedious and boring. I definitely don't recommend wasting money or time on it.

hard to follow, boring to listen to.
Revisado: 11-07-09
I expected I would like this book because I have read numerous Georgette Heyer books set in this era, but was sadly disappointed in the way this was presented. The author tells one the story rather than having the characters' dialogue carry the story. Was bored to tears by hour 2 and couldn't stand to finish it.
