I cant say if it was the horrible narration or the story that made this a low rated book for me. I liked the beginning but then it turned into nothing but icky bickering and stupid plot developments. There was a weird subplot with a character, Reese, that kinda came out of nowhere and really confused the storyline. The narration was... overdramatic and not even enjoyable.

I loved the premise of this book and fell in love with the characters. The opening scene not only hooked me, but cracked me up. Halle does a great job of threading this throughout the rest of the story. I loved and feared Fluffy - such a unique piece of the story and great comic relief. Good sex scenes, good character bonding, overall a fun read.

This is a beautiful story about the love between a girl and a dog, and doing what's right, being brave, and autism! Just a beautiful story.

What could Elizabeth Lowell have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

This book drove me nuts because it was all about mistrust, jealous, and male dominance - that's it no other plot. I was along for the ride with an arranged marriage and a medieval knight, but after they got married the book became a constant battle over her virginity and jealousy over her brother/former fiance. There was a skeleton plot with lots of irritating drivel in between.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Anne Flosnik?

No one - Flosnik was great.

What character would you cut from Untamed?

The hero

I struggled to remember all the names and people in the story. I did really enjoy the story but I'm not sure I will read the rest of the series.

What made the experience of listening to Play Dead the most enjoyable?

Scott Brick as a narrator was awesome. He does all the accents and does a wonderful job of having a voice for each character.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes. I had a hard time putting this down. Just when I thought I'd have it figured out there would be another twist that I hadn't considered.

Which character – as performed by Scott Brick – was your favorite?

The Aussie sheriff.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There was a section at the end when I had a reveal moment that had me gasping and exclaiming what I knew. No laughing or crying - maybe a little head scratching.

Any additional comments?

I know some reviews said this was a horrible read but I didn't feel that way at all. I was very much engaged in the writing and the story development. I liked the characters and the interactions. It was a solid book. Still not one of my favorites but still a good read. It is dated as it takes place early 90's but worth the read.

Beautifully written and a quick read. A story about not giving up on your dreams, finding your way past obstacles, true love, and sometime the things you want most are not that far from home. Jeremy Irons as narrator was phenomenal!

It took me a few chapters to get into the book but once I did I couldn't put the book down. The top thing I loved about this book was the strong female heroine. The thing I liked least was that the kids were violent and I'm not sure it was necessary. Excellent narrator!

I liked the first book but this second one was hard to finish. I struggled to find the plot of the book and the only real action happened in the last hour and a half.

The book picks up nicely after the end of the first. Then it's all about how much they love each other and how great live is for them. I actually found myself groaning every time Tru starts gushing about how wonderful Jake is and can't believe she was good enough for him. Both characters are in a scary co-dependent relationship with massive trust issues and it was kinda sad to see how they both tried to control the other person. I did a lot of eye rolling.

I usually like this narrator too but maybe it was the character but things started to sound whiney and desperate. I think it was the tone of the book and not her performance that made me give such a low review.

Would you consider the audio edition of Deep Thoughts from a Hollywood Blonde to be better than the print version?

YES! It's read by Jennie Garth which makes it much more real and you get a chance to hear her inflection and passion. She is a great narrator actually and I'd love to hear her read more.

What does Jennie Garth bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The honesty. When she talks about her dad, her kids, her cast mates, you hear her pride, genuine respect and love that she feels for each person.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I wish - But - it was two sittings and less than 24 hours.

Any additional comments?

There was a little repetition which was a little annoying for me but I enjoyed the overall book immensely. It was a journey!
