Historia
In What It Means to Be Moral: Why Religion Is Not Necessary for Living an Ethical Life, Phil Zuckerman argues that morality does not come from God. Rather, it comes from us: our brains, our evolutionary past, our ongoing cultural development, our social experiences, and our ability to reason, reflect, and be sensitive to the suffering of others.

Finally! an ethical argument for non spiritual people
Revisado: 12-14-24
I’m an atheist/atheistic who feels underrepresented. The successes of non spiritual peoples are under appreciated in society. I wish I could meet this author to thank them and discuss their ideas and book more. To strengthen the argument in this book, I am someone who has applied my life’s goal to reducing inequality while not relying on a spiritual authority. I’m an MBA student who studies value creation and have been accepted into top universities to study ethics at the MA level following my MBA. Hopefully this book fairs well in history.

Historia
Since the original publication of Nudge more than a decade ago, the title has entered the vocabulary of businesspeople, policy makers, engaged citizens, and consumers everywhere. The book has given rise to more than 200 "nudge units" in governments around the world and countless groups of behavioral scientists in every part of the economy. It has taught us how to use thoughtful "choice architecture" - a concept the authors invented - to help us make better decisions for ourselves, our families, and our society.

Highly Ethical
Revisado: 03-27-24
I ironically wish everyone would read this. I’m doing an MBA and I’ve also been accepted into an MA in applied ethics and an MA in Philosophy. I have to choose between the two MAs. Either way I choose, Nudge is a strong tool in my toolbox for living well and guiding others to live well.

Historia
Richard H. Thaler has spent his career studying the radical notion that the central agents in the economy are humans - predictable, error-prone individuals. Misbehaving is his arresting, frequently hilarious account of the struggle to bring an academic discipline back down to earth - and change the way we think about economics, ourselves, and our world.

Historia
Peter Singer is often described as the world's most influential philosopher. He is also one of its most controversial. The author of important books such as Animal Liberation and Practical Ethics, he helped launch the animal rights and effective altruism movements and contributed to the development of bioethics. Now, in Ethics in the Real World, Singer shows that he is also a master at dissecting important current events in a few hundred words.

Great first place to start philosophy
Revisado: 01-27-24
I’m a seasoned philosopher. I did four years of study on a philosophy degree. I’m working on a master’s in business, and I will be starting a master’s in applied ethics immediately after. I’m not saying this to brag, I want to let you know where I’m coming from. I started my philosophy journey by reading Plato’s Republic. I wish I read this first instead. I’m a fan of Singer’s economic goals of ending world poverty. I’m critical of his ablest views on genetics and disabilities.
