Often the social narrative and dialogue regarding things like LGBTQIA+ issues can become focused on matters of belief or ideological differences. "How to NOT Know You're TRANS" provides, as much as possible in written form, what is frequently missing--an authentic encounter with a real person. There is nothing sensationalized or tawdry about this book; it presents nothing more or less than the honest, lived out experience of one trans person to give the reader perspective and understanding they might not otherwise have. An easy and enjoyable read, I completed the book in a single evening and found myself variously laughing at humorous moments, empathizing with the author's occasional pain, and contemplating my own experiences in view of hers. A valuable read for anybody who is interested in the human experience!
