Historia
After three centuries trapped underground, thousand-year-old Yulric Bile, also known as The Cursed One, The Devil's Apprentice, He Who Worships the Slumbering Horrors, awakens only to find that no one believes he is a vampire. Apparently he's just too ugly. Modern vampires, he soon discovers, are pretty, weak, and, most disturbing of all, good.

Better read than listened to.
Revisado: 05-12-17
Would you try another book from Jim McDoniel and/or Drew Campbell?
Author yes, narrator - no.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Simon. I think the character was underdeveloped though, and in general the backstories of the main characters were revealed a bit late in the book to put their actions in context.
Would you be willing to try another one of Drew Campbell’s performances?
Not inclined to. His timing was very odd, inserting pauses where they made no sense and throwing the cadence of the text off.
Could you see An Unattractive Vampire being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Yes - and no idea!
Any additional comments?
I liked the story a lot, but it felt a bit rushed in places and the pacing was a bit uneven.

Historia
Ex-reporter Joe Winder had been working in the public relations department of a sleazy family entertainment park, The Amazing Kingdom of Thrills, when he chanced upon a news-breaking story inspired by the disappearance of two blue-tongued voles and the bizarre death of Orky, the killer whale.

Met expectations
Revisado: 12-05-12
Where does Native Tongue rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Compared to other audio books this was good - not great. The pacing felt a bit slow - although the narration suited the pace of the story so I can't blame the reader.
Any additional comments?
It was well read, and as it progressed the story became more engaging. Towards the end I laughed out loud at a few points. Overall, I'd recommend the book and urge patience as you wait for the story to kick into gear. The narrator did a great job.

It Grew On Me
Revisado: 10-01-12
Where does Halfway to the Grave rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I enjoyed this - its a light supernatural caper type story that moves at a good pace and grips your interest. The narration grew on me. At first the cockney accent given the character Bones grated, but by the end of the book I had come to appreciate the narrator's skill in differentiating characters and her consistency.

Historia
Stephen Sheerin was born to play on Broadway - or at least, under it. He's a musician, a conductor, and his dream is to music-direct a big Broadway musical. After years of toiling in the pit of some of the best-loved (and loathed) hits on the Great White Way, he's just been given his big break. Can life really be going that well? Of course not.

So Much Fun

Who was your favorite character and why?
How can you have a favourite character in a book chock full of such colourful personalities?
Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favorite?
Stacey and Stephen were both hilarious, and Ronald was also pretty droll.
Any additional comments?
If you are a fan of CBC's Wiretap, you will adjust quickly to the narrator's style, otherwise - give it a few chapters and he will grow on you! Funny book, great pacing and wonderful narrators. You are in for a great listen with this story.
