Absolutely LOVE!
Revisado: 12-05-24
Gilbert never disappoints. I found myself lost in her prose like with every other title I have read from her. Thank you for putting this message out there! Whether you are a creative or not, this book will inspire you to look at life with less expectation and just enjoy the ride. Love the narration as well! Top notch!

Great story
Revisado: 05-10-23
I really enjoyed this book in the series so far. The author does a great job of blending historical information with a good story. Some of the writing seems a little disconnected at times but overall it keeps you interested in what is coming next. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Historia
The secret behind France's astonishingly well-behaved children is here. When American journalist Pamela Druckerman has a baby in Paris, she doesn't aspire to become a "French parent". French parenting isn't a known thing, like French fashion or French cheese. Even French parents themselves insist they aren't doing anything special. But French children are far better behaved and more in command of themselves than American kids....

Great perspective!
Revisado: 01-27-23
I really enjoyed the perspective this provides. It is great to take what you want and leave what you want. I might even listen one more time to make sure I absorb it all. My one critique is, I don’t care for the forced sounding french accents. Unnecessary.

Historia
Dreaming the Bull continues the story of Breaca - now hailed Boudica, the Bringer of Victory, and her half brother, Bán, now an Officer in the Roman auxiliary cavalry. Each stands on the opposing side in a brutal war of attrition between the occupying army and the defeated tribes; each is determined to see the other dead. Caught between them are two children, son and daughter to two of the greatest warriors their world has ever seen, while in distant Rome, the Emperor Claudius holds the balance of lives in their hands.

Becoming a top favorite!
Revisado: 06-02-21
I have to say that the first book in this series was a little hard to get into in the beginning, but once I was captured by the authors writing style, this series has quickly become one of my top favorites! I am so in love with the character development and the imaginative artistic license the author took with writing about this time period. I am HOOKED! Bravo! I just finished Dreaming the Bull and I am off to download book 3 now!

Historia
In a land of mountains and mist, tradition and superstition, Languoreth and her brother Lailoken are raised in the Old Way of their ancestors. But in Scotland, a new religion is rising, one that brings disruption, bloodshed, and riot. And even as her family faces the burgeoning forces of Christianity, the Anglo-Saxons, bent on colonization, are encroaching from the east. When conflict brings the hero Emrys Pendragon to her father’s door, Languoreth finds love with one of his warriors. Her deep connection to Maelgwn is forged by enchantment, but she is promised in marriage to Rhydderch, son of a Christian king.

A new favorite!
Revisado: 02-12-21
I am a huge fan of historical fiction and this book did not disappoint! I am blown away by the authors ability to set the scene with her beautiful imagery. I also really appreciated the authors note at the end explaining the historical details and facts that she based the book upon. I am already downloading the second book in this series! Fantastic! I would highly recommend!

Historia
There is a voice of longing inside each woman. We strive so mightily to be good: good partners, daughters, mothers, employees, and friends. We hope all this striving will make us feel alive. Instead, it leaves us feeling weary, stuck, overwhelmed, and underwhelmed. We look at our lives and wonder: Wasn’t it all supposed to be more beautiful than this? We quickly silence that question, telling ourselves to be grateful, hiding our discontent—even from ourselves.

I stretched out and savored reading Untamed because it was so good I never wanted it to end. This is definitely a title I will revisit and draw inspiration from! Bravo Glennon for creating a space where women can feel unapologetic in their pursuit of happiness.
