Heartbreaking but Hopeful

Most of us know bits about his life from the media and tabloid press but there is much honesty and depth to his story. His struggle with grief and lack of affection from the Age of 12 on, his Difficulties in school and loneliness as well as his perceived lack of purpose all factored into obstacles he had to deal with growing up. I knew very little about his years in the British Army and how that shaped him into an adult. I felt his pain as he wanted to get married and start his own family- only to have Chelsea and Cressida be unable to deal with the press stalking and lack of privacy. His repeated asks for help from the RF was mind boggling to say the least. I hope that he and Meg have a wonderful happy life living with their children in California. He deserves peace and happiness for the remainder of his life.

His narration was perfect. He's right up there with Scott Brick, one of my favorite narrators. I'm Sure Harry could narrate plenty of other books! I highly recommend Spare.

I really enjoyed the story and the narration was great. I adopted a mistreated and abandoned dog on June 20 (2017) seven years after Zach found and rescued Riley. My daughter says my “Brownie” won the lottery and I’m sure both Zach and Riley feel the same way about each other. While I have had Brownie five years, he is still fearful of men, being confined inside a crate and is extremely food insecure. He survived mange, a MRSA infection that nearly killed him and had numerous teeth broken off at the pulp line that needed to be pulled. It took more than six months for him to not be afraid of my husband, but they have bonded over belly rubs and treats. Brownie has gained 30 pounds and is now a very healthy 63 lbs.

Some reviewers thought the book would be Much more about Riley, but I loved hearing about Zach’s processing his childhood and “why” he and Riley had both suffered. I was thrilled that each of them had their Happy Ever After. I have reflected on this story long after reading it and highly recommend it to everyone.

Rollercoaster of emotions

This is the first book in a series about men in a British UK special forces unit. There is lots of suspense in this story about Lily and Grant and their supporting cast members, Pat and Vance. I especially like the ending and how it sets the framework for stories about other men in the unit. Highly recommended.

Jason and Andi are absolutely fantastic narrators. Lauren Blakely hits this out of the park with her first installment in the boyfriend series. I have to start Sex and other shiny objects in a few Minutes.

Do not miss this book.
I loved the main characters and watching them overcome their first impressions to develop deep feelings for each other despite their differences. I was torn between wanting to see What happened next and not wanting to book to end. Great cast of supporting characters as well. The narrators were wonderful, two of the best in Audible.
