Historia
Sam Ryder's life already sucks, and it's about to get worse when he's fired from his dead-end job as a programmer. He's about to head home to escape into his favorite RPG, Alien Civilization, when he's offered a thrill ride on a death machine by a gorgeous woman straight out of one of his games. Before Sam can say "WTF?", he's been whisked away to a dark world of monsters and goddesses, his body transformed from Outcast to Warrior, the second level on a ladder that may eventually carry him all the way to Demigod.

Dumb and boring
Revisado: 11-12-21
Sometimes these books are okay if you skip past the sex stuff. This one was just boring. Nothing happened. MC was incapable of doing anything cool. Writer made a dumb character who did dumb things and had dumb thoughts. Couldn’t finish.

Historia
When Rin aced the Keju - the Empire-wide test to find the most talented youth to learn at the Academies - it was a shock to everyone: to the test officials, who couldn’t believe a war orphan from Rooster Province could pass without cheating; to Rin’s guardians, who believed they’d finally be able to marry her off and further their criminal enterprise; and to Rin herself, who realized she was finally free of the servitude and despair that had made up her daily existence. That she got into Sinegard - the most elite military school in Nikan - was even more surprising.

Tough to get through the second half
Revisado: 10-19-21
Book gets real dialogue heavy and ponderous in the second half. Not the good type of heavy either. I mean Im constantly skipping with the little 30 second button as folks just drone on and on about choices and stuff. Great story. Need to slim it down.

Hard time finishing book.
Revisado: 04-12-21
Gaunt acted out of character. Bad writing. Inconsistent with his previous actions. Supposed to be about trusting his people and accepting their advise. Then he doesn’t do that. I’m gonna pretend that this part of the story doesn’t exist.

Historia
A thousand years have passed since a dragon has been seen in the world. Science and technology have replaced magic, which has dwindled until it has become little more than an element of myth and legend. There are those who still have dragon blood flowing through their veins, distant descendants of the mighty creatures of old. These rare humans have the power to cast magic, the power to heal, and the power to craft alchemical weapons capable of starting wars...or ending them.

Historia
Two weeks ago, Hector Park cheated death by uploading his mind to the ultra-immersive fantasy RPG game, Archemi. After exposing the rotten heart of an order of dragon knights, he’s now on the run with a young queen dragon who could one day become the most powerful mount in the game. To get strong enough to face their enemies, they need a quest - a big one. Fortunately, trouble has a way of finding Hector, and it does - in the form of a series of brutally murdered priests, a king in desperate need of a hero, and a beautiful, fiery berserker.

Cringe
Revisado: 07-14-20
Dude. This book could have been so much more without the constant attempts and lame sexual innuendo jokes. The foundation and general storytelling are good, but the character interactions are ridiculous. Made it to the the last 30 minutes thinking it would end strong. Nope, dumb. It continued to get worse. Who gave this high schooler a book deal? I’m tired of getting tricked into these books by good plots, and then dropping them after the characters disgust me.

Frustrating
Revisado: 06-17-20
This series has been ruined by the author’s need to make it longer. He talks about how he had to make it multiple books to make the perfect story, but that’s a lie! You’re gonna listen to the book to finish it. But know that you’re listening to an artificially lengthened story. Each character has to think the same thought five times in five different ways. Especially the last few hours. It’s like a damn Indian soap opera.
