The story progression was pretty unique. I only got this as the first three books were on sale as a bundle. I want expecting much. I was really surprised at how much I liked this. I'm happily paying for the fourth book as I can't wait to see what happens

Combat over Story

The story is interesting but absent. I am halfway through the second book and have the same single issue. it seems like 70-80% of the books are a series of never ending combat scenarios. The story progression definitely takes a backseat to combat. I will finish the second book, but have no expectation of the story suddenly taking off and saving the series for me.

Fantastic Series

Surprisingly Great

I almost stopped reading a few chapters in. I found the description of every little detail distracting, and disrupting the flow of the story. That being said, I am truly glad I did not stop. The over descriptive issue seemed to be gone a couple of chapters in. I'm still mostly a fantasy (sorcery and swords type) genre guy so I didn't expect much from this sort of a story for myself. This story is something that I have never come across before. I can see after just one book that there are so many places that the author could take this and I really found myself irritated that there was not a second audiobook ready. The story was very well done, and the characters are very well fleshed out. One thing that I really enjoyed was the creation of a believable world in which I never felt lost. The world was explained, the characters were explained, and the problems people were dealing with were explained. this author definitely puts thought into what she's doing and gives it depth.

I actually met this author at a local festival, and bought the audiobook on the spot as you always want to support local people. I am very glad this story turned out to be so excellent and Hope she experiences nothing but success from this. If you actually read this, get going on that second audiobook will you please

About 2 minutes into this book I am terribly disappointed. A monotone narrator definitely can kill a book. I have just binge listened to the first five. Absolutely awesome, All of them five star. Why on earth would you try to deliver this to us? The narrator is so boring I can't even keep focused on the story. change this up for the next book or this is my last. I'm almost finished listening to this book, and I just realized I have no idea what I've been listening to all this time. if I could give a zero I truly would

For me, entirely too much detail. More time was spent on detailing the environment and not enough spent on the story. I found myself tuning out the the story for several chapters. I've never had a title that I've listened to and totally lost the story. The story would have probably been good had it actually held my attention.

Mostly dull

about 7 hours of a school room type setting listening to hours of nothing. The ridiculous same sex relationship was unnecessary and played no real part in the story at all. The last two hours were pretty good. Total disappointment when compared to the other books.
