Historia
Never is an extraordinary novel, full of heroines and villains, false prophets and elite warriors, jaded politicians and opportunistic revolutionaries. It brims with cautionary wisdom for our times, and delivers a visceral, heart-pounding story that transports listeners to the brink of the unimaginable.

looks like a book written in the '00s
Revisado: 05-13-24
I generally enjoy Ken's books very much. That was not the case. I read half of it until I couldn't take it any longer.
It seemed to be written by a feminist democrat lady of the 00s! it's absurdly outdated.
From the world that is described, to issues (racism on social media, USA as a international leader dealing with a sensate Chinese governament...).
It even includes reasonable journalism, outdated (and insane) republican party positions and, as the final absurdity, the moderate democratic party of the Clinton's era, not the present woke, no borders, extreme left version.
I wonder if it was written by a woman. The way men are described, the type of internal discussions and the amount of strong, independent women seems to me a one sided view of society.
It was a huge disappointment.

time travel interesting plot
Revisado: 03-15-24
the problem with his story is that sometimes the logic is not really enforced at its best.
at so many points aon the story you can find solutions that would make more sense.
The whole business idea of ITC is at best, laughable.
I have read the story before and I thought it was better, maybe because I got more experience in my life. I found there are many hoes in this plot.
It is still worthwhile reading.

I'm not sure why I didn't enjoy this book as much as the others.
it was a bit sadder and lacked the characters being a bit smarter.
It was a bit dumber than the other books in the series and lacked a bit more creativity.

Mitch Rapp has worked for a number of presidents over his career, but Anthony Cook is unlike any he’s encountered before. Cunning and autocratic, he feels no loyalty to America’s institutions and is distrustful of the influence Rapp and CIA director Irene Kennedy have in Washington.

worst Mitch Rapp book
Revisado: 01-02-23
I can't properly explain but maybe it's the complicated plot, or my humor, or the unusual style...
still, it felt like a different taste... not horrible, but definitely, not the usual story we have been accustomed to.

Historia
When Mitch Rapp captures ISIS’s top technology expert, he reveals that he was on his way to meet a man who claims to have the ability to bring down America’s power grid. Rapp is determined to eliminate this shadowy figure, but the CIA’s trap fails. The Agency is still trying to determine what went wrong when ISIS operatives help this cyber terrorist do what he said he could — plunge the country into darkness. With no concept of how this unprecedented act was accomplished, the task of getting the power back on could take months. Perhaps even years.

this has become a bit too 007 type of story with those end of the world narratives.
it went way beyond the scope of the typical rapp's story and was a bit exaggerated

romantic but not practical time travel storyline
Revisado: 03-01-22
I love time travel stories and mildly enjoyed the book.
Romantic, bordered silly, at times, when the most basic plans were not done; to stay in one single example, the question of time traveling with money was never raised.
A few times it looked more like a soap opera, with lack of rationality and cliche storyline where the beauty and innocent meets the gentle but slightly wild well mannered and successful male man ... Jesus....
This is a book for people looking for an interesting romance story not sci-fi lovers nor pragmatic readers

just wanted a good time travel story but...
Revisado: 11-21-21
... this was a constant drama.
basically the plot details the suffering and struggling of a cursed woman while she lives through the centuries.
it was a constant torment and I had no pleasure reading the 6 or 7 chapters i forced myself to.

Great idea but too much drama
Revisado: 11-17-21
although the subject and idea for this book is an interesting concept, the main character seems to be troubled all the time, unable to find contentment or happiness.
it's too much, exaggerated and enerving at times.

Enjoyable and different, but not hugely creative.
Revisado: 03-12-17
Although it is a new way of discovering things, explaining the facts and a wonderful mix of reality and fantasy, it's told through a very much woman's lens, sounding, once in a while, too romantic, too biased towards a female point of view. On the other hand this is also its strength, showing a peculiar way of thinking.

Historia
A huge novel that follows five families through the world-shaking dramas of the First World War, the Russian Revolution, and the struggle for votes for women. It is 1911. The Coronation Day of King George V. The Williams, a Welsh coal-mining family, is linked by romance and enmity to the Fitzherberts, aristocratic coal-mine owners. Lady Maud Fitzherbert falls in love with Walter von Ulrich, a spy at the German Embassy in London.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
For people who like long books and complex plots, as well as a great history background, this is the one! Involving, interesting characters, most well explained historic events, makes you feel like time travel while participating in the lives of the different families, throughout Europe.
Any additional comments?
Just waiting for the third volume!
