Gah, these characters!

The Two Of Us is the first in the Love in Isolation Series by this phenomenal writing duo! Its a departure from Cowboys but not from there engaging and addictive writing style! Written in Dual perspective's during a Pandemic, you very quickly fall in love with our main characters Cameron St. James and Elijah Ross.

Cameron St James (Cami) is a fashion empire heiress with a fear of not being in control and of the media seeing her in a terrible light. All her life everyone has expected her to be perfect so she's created a persona that hides who she really is from the world. Only those closest to her know the real Cami.

Elijah Ross (Eli) was the boy from the wrong side of the tracks, He's been in Cami's life for as long as they can both remember and have disliked each other for just as long. Eli is Cami's brothers Best Friend so he thinks he knows her better then anyone, but even this heiress will surprise him.

The Two Of Us was a super sweet and swoony story of the love that grows between two people who dislike each other and are forced together in insolation, hidden away from the world. The Two Of Us couldn't have been written at a more perfect time, 2020 has been a YEAR and the pandemic that we are currently living through has been world changing. This story addressed the very real fears that people all over the world are experiencing while also showing us that even when it feels like the world is falling down around us, love is always there. The Two Of Us was an uplifting story that was the perfect escape from the real world.

The audio book for The Two of Us was such a great listen, I was enthralled from the very first chapter and thought the narrators brought out the emotion in each character is different scenarios so perfectly. It was captivating!

Addictive, angst ridden, passionate and compelling. The Punk and The Plaything had IT ALL!

The Punk and The Plaything is the third book in the When Rival's Play Series continuing the story line that started it all in The Peer and The Puppet. A second chance Romance written in dual POV through main characters Jameson and Barbette whom we met in the first book.

Jamie and Bea had a complex history that going into this book we knew very little about. I loved that The Punk and The Plaything gave us more insight to there relationship.

Since learning Bea and Ever's secret, I've been fascinated to learn more about Bea. She has always been a character that I wanted to learn more about, she seemed so strong and confident but when it came to the toxic relationship with her parents she backed down so quickly.

Bea and Jamie had phenomenal character development in this book, I loved the growth we experienced for both of these characters and even more so the growth of there relationship.

The When Rivals Play series is one of my favourites, each book has its own plot while also fitting in perfectly to the overarching plot in the series and is best experienced blind. there are so many key points that link up to other key points in the series, Its complex, compelling and so addictive! I love BB Reid's writing!

The audibook of The Punk and The Plaything was such a fantastic listen! Stephen Dexter and Jillian Macie were the perfect narrators to bring Jamie and Bea to life. They both captured these characters perfectly and brought even more depth to them. I can't wait tolisten to the rest of the series!

Sleeper was an adorably sweet Brothers Best Friends Romantic Comedy that was light on the angst and heavy on the cuteness!

Shane and Willa were an adorable couple that brought out the best in each other, they clearly had a connection from the beginning. There relationship was fast paced because of this connection and a littl ebit to do with there history as well.

Sleeper was an adorable listen, the kids are a cute addition and the history between Shane and Willa gave it another level of sweetness that was fun but I would've loved more angst. Brothers Best Friend is one of my favourite sub genres and one of the reason's I love it is because of the angst and tension between all characters involved. Sleeper felt like it was missing that part of the romance for me.

The narrators for this audio book were really great to listen too. I looooove listening to Teddy Hamilton, he has such a great voice and captures the emotion of characters so well. Mackenvie Cartwright was a new to me narrator but I really enjoyed her version of Willa! I'll be looking for more of her narrated books in the future.

Narrators: Mackenzie Cartwright and Teddy Hamilton

Overall: 3.5
Performance: 4.5
Story: 3.5

Blindsided was my first Amy Daws book, I’ve had her books sitting on my TBR for so long but never found the time to read them and I regret it so much!

Blindsided is an entertaining friends to lovers story about a 30 year old virgin and her Scotish footballer best friend and some lessons in seduction.

Freya Cook is quirky, adorable and such a genuine, down to earth character who I think we can all relate too in someway. Maclay “Mac” Logan is a hilariously, loud-mouthed and tattooed footballer who wants to be Freya’s teacher in all things about the opposite sex.

Blindsided was a great listen, the plot and character development translated so well to audio and I loved the dual narration!

Blindsided was a fun read, I haven’t delved into the friends to lovers genre in a while because my cold black heart constantly craves angst and suspense but it was refreshing to listen to something different, something that made me smile and laugh out loud. Something with a different level of friends to lovers angst that was so heartwarming and sweet!

A story of healing, love and finding yourself

I’ve only recently found Ava Harrison and have very quickly fallen in love with her style of writing and storytelling. Ava’s books transfer to audiobooks perfectly, nothing is lost in translation. The plot just as compelling, the characters just as poignant.

Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt added an extra layer of emotion to Conceal that made it so enjoyable. There voices captured the feelings of the characters incredibly well.

Conceal is the story of a broken and scared girl and a boy so hidden behind his persona that those closest to him can’t see the type of person he is.

I was intrigued by Jaxson Price from the minute he was introduced in Entice (Grayson Price’s story) and knew there was a depth to hi that we weren’t seeing. Tagged as the black sheep of the Price family, Jaxson lives on the outside of his family, by choice and circumstance. The youngest Price sibling was something of a troublemaker is his youth, fighting for attention not realising in hindsight he was receiving the wrong attention. He gave off the irresponsible, never grow up vibe that’s translated in the way he carries himself in an adult. Jaxson Price was far smarter than anyone gave him credit for, so much more responsible, so much more caring and just so much more everything. He was swoony, protective, loving and so easy to fall in love with! Zachary Webber was the perfect embodiment of Jaxson Price.

Willow was a woman on the run from her present and past. She has secrets, and these are the basis for the plot in Conceal.
Willow was troubled, scared and in hiding trying to disguise her looks and personality. She meets Jax in a random meeting of happenstance and their friendship and relationship blossoms from there.

The development of the characters was very different. Jax didn’t need much development, it was the characters around him who needed to see him for who he truly was. Willow on the other hand developed incredibly slowly which was perfectly on pace with her secrets and how the story developed.

Conceal was a story of healing, finding love and finding yourself. I loved listening to Conceal. It wasn’t as angsty and suspenseful as I would’ve liked but still a very enjoyable read.

In the Unlikely Event was a surprising and intricately woven story of love, heart ache, deception and devastation.

Malachy Doherty comes crashing into Rory’s life when she needs someone to show her what passion and love are. Rory is hurt, the wish she had for the life she always wanted with a happy family has come to an end due to the untimely death of her father. Mal is the epitome of the bad boy who makes all the wrong choices in life, Rory is the lost little girl with daddy issues, together they bring out the best in each other as well as the worst.

L.J. Shen has an incredible way with words that consumes you heart and soul, even when you don’t like parts of a story or characters that she creates you can’t help but love every word she writes. I fell in love with the story of In the Unlikely Event, but I didn’t fall in love with these characters. I struggled to like them at times, and I don’t think any character in this story was inherently good, they were all broken and tortured and kept secrets that ruined each other’s worlds. The only character that I truly like was Ashton.

Considering that I didn’t particularly like any of the characters in this angsty story yet completely loved the actual story itself is a true testament to L.J. Shen’s talent when it comes to words. Her talent knows no bounds, she breaks down barriers with her words and talent.

I was lucky enough to read an arc of this story before it released and have now listened to the audio book. This story translated perfectly to audio and I think I actually enjoyed it more listening to it. The narrators, the notes, the passion, and the angst made this story a journey that everyone should experience.

The Fadeaway was a super sweet romance!

The Fadeaway was a super sweet romance that had me swooning like crazy!

I’ve never been a huge fan of the reformed player storyline, it can be overdone and unrealistic but The Fadeaway was something completely different that had me hooked from the first moment Teddy Hamilton as Joel Moreno uttered a full sentence in Spanish!

Joel Moreno isn’t your typical player, he’s broken hearted in more ways than one and still hasn’t found a way to repair his heart and move on from the future he thought he’d have.

Katrina aka Kitty isn’t broken hearted. You’d have to be open to love for that and Katrina is most definitely not. Her heart has already been stolen by her adorable 3-year-old son Christian, but she can still day dream every Thursday when Joel Moreno asks her out on a date.

The Fadeaway is a story of the healing power of love and companionship. It brings together two jaded people in a super sweet and swoony way that has these two characters bringing out the best in each other while also repairing their hearts and outlooks on love.

The Fadeaway was my introduction to Rebecca Jenshak’s writing and although it’s the second book in the series, it was the first one I listened too. The first book in the Smart Jocks series is The Assist which I can’t wait to listen to next! I loved Rebecca Jenshak’s swoony style of writing, it was a truly enjoyable listen. She brought these characters to life in a believable way and had me forgetting that Joel and Katrina don’t really exist. There’s some great secondary characters in Joel and Katrina’s life that you know have their own stories coming as well.

Teddy Hamilton and Summer Morton were the perfect narrators to bring Joel and Katrina to life. Teddy captured the Mexican side of Joel perfectly and had me rewinding and relistening to every part where he uttered a couple of sentences in Spanish! The Fadeaway translated to audio book so well, it flowed perfectly and had me avoiding the pause button at all costs so I could devour it right up until the end.

The Fadeaway was a sweet and heartfelt listen that had my heart beating like crazy. There’s some super swoony bits, super sexy bits and some funny bits that keep you hooked from the first chapter. It’s a perfect listen for anyone who’s looking for something to listen too while wrapping there Christmas presents, its got that swoony hallmark feel to it and I highly recommend the audio for this one!

I am an absolute sucker for a Kennedy Fox Cowboy! I can’t help myself but devour every small-town romance they write! Since my introduction to Kennedy Fox with Baby Yours, I’ve been trying to read every word they’ve written and have slowly been making my way through there back catalogue.

I’m a lover and craver of angst, I can’t get enough of it. I love having my heart ripped out and generally shy away from the lighter small-town romances but there’s just something about their style of writing that keeps me coming back for more.

Falling for the Cowboy was everything I love about a Kennedy Fox book, a totally adorable setting in Texas at the Bishop Ranch, a swoon worthy and sexy cowboy and a quirky and real heroine. With each book I read about these Bishop Cowboys I fall more and more in love with their adorable writing style.

Colton is the ‘Cowboy Casanova’ and he lives this persona in spades! He’s super sweet, so swoony and just the right amount of dirty. I loved his personality and the rapport he had with Presley. They were adorable together!

Presley is strong, confident and a hard worker who knows what she wants in life and goes all out to get it. She was a refreshing female character that I could really relate too. I loved that she was a photographer and that she was a bookstagrammer.

The romance between Colton and Presley was fast moving and so sweet and worked so well with the pace of the story. I usually like my romance with a side of angst and slow burn, but this romance was so refreshing and heartwarming.

I listened to the audible version of Falling for the Cowboy and this book translated to well to Audio. Erin Mallon and Aiden Snow were such great narrators who brought Presley and Colton to life so perfectly.

Ache was heartbreaking and raw and absolutely pushes every single one of your boundaries.

I read the blurb of Ache when the cover was first released and knew this was a book I wanted to devour. I'd never read a book by S.M. Soto and was excited to listen to the audio version of this.

Bea Norwood's story is one of heart break, pain and survival. Bea is your typical 13 year old girl, who lives next door to her best friend. She's outgoing, happy, and an only child to a solo mum who loves her and dotes on her.

During her first year at High School, Her best friends cousin Liam Falcon comes to live in her town. Liam is gorgeous, talented and so sweet. Bea and Liam have an instant connection that rocks both there world within a matter of months.

But not everything in Bea's world brings her joy. Her mother remarries and moves into there home a new Step Father and Step Brother changing Bea's world forever.

6 years later, Liam Falcon returns to Lakeport to find Bea a shell of herself. Liam is desperate to bring back the Bea he once loved but Bea's been keeping secrets for 6 long years.

I was emotionally exhausted by the time I finished listening to Ache. My heart hurt, there was a lump in my throat and my eyes were stinging with tears. Ache was incredibly well written, with a well thought out plot and character development.

Ache does need a trigger warning, it deals with scenes of sexual abuse that i found very hard to listen too. I enjoy a dark read like most but these themes i find very hard to be able to listen to or read and still remain within the story.

Joe Arden and Ava Erickson are fantastic narrators, they captured the essence of Bea and Liam perfectly. You could feel the tension, the emotion and the pain in there voices. The narrators are what kept me going through this story, the way they portrayed the characters and the honest way they used the emotion of the writing was fantastic.
