Historia
From the acclaimed author who enthralled the world with Exodus, Battle Cry, QB VII, Topaz, and other beloved classics of twentieth-century fiction comes a sweeping and powerful epic adventure that captures the "terrible beauty" of Ireland during its long and bloody struggle for freedom. It is the electrifying story of an idealistic young Catholic rebel and the valiant and beautiful Protestant girl who defied her heritage to join his cause. It is a tale of love and danger, of triumph at an unthinkable cost.

A Terrible Beauty
Revisado: 07-11-24
I read Trinity when it was first published in1976. I read it to school myself on The Troubles prior to my first visit to Ireland to meet cousins and experience my averted home. The book was a great and stirring story that also provided a solid background on how The Heroines came to be
Fifty years and five visits later, I decided to re read Trinity in Audio. it is in no way diminished as a great story and primer on Irish history. I loved the book and will again recommend it to others. I will n I r wait 50 years to read it again.

Historia
In 1972, when workers in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, were digging the foundations for a new development, the last thing they expected to find was a skeleton at the bottom of a well. Who the skeleton was and how it got there were two of the long-held secrets kept by the residents of Chicken Hill, the dilapidated neighborhood where immigrant Jews and African Americans lived side by side and shared ambitions and sorrows. Chicken Hill was where Moshe and Chona Ludlow lived when Moshe integrated his theater and where Chona ran the Heaven & Earth Grocery Store.

Historia
Titus Crown is the first Black sheriff in the history of Charon County, Virginia. In recent decades, quiet Charon has had only two murders. But after years of working as an FBI agent, Titus knows better than anyone that while his hometown might seem like a land of moonshine, cornbread, and honeysuckle, secrets always fester under the surface. As Titus investigates the shootings, he unearths terrible crimes.

Historia
When Fin Macleod catches up with elusive poacher and former childhood friend Whistler Macaskill, the two witness a freak natural phenomenon - a bog burst - that drains a loch of all its water in a flash, revealing a mud-encased light aircraft with a sickeningly familiar moniker on its side. Both men immediately know what they will find inside: the body of Roddy Mackenzie, a friend whose flight disappeared more than 17 years earlier. But when Whistler's face appears to register something other than shock, an icy chill of apprehension overtakes Fin.

Read the first 2 books some years ago and enjoyed then very much. But, I think this final book is the best. Beautifully written. I decided to complete my experience of these books with the Audible version and a.m so glad I did. The narration was exquisite and deepened the sense of place in the bleak beauty of the Hebrides.
