Think about the things that give your life depth, focus, and meaning: deeply satisfying relationships with plenty of give and take, physical health and emotional wellbeing, passion projects, self-esteem, and self-respect. Bold people have these things. Bold people recognize what’s holding them back—and it's almost always a fear of failure. They train to overcome their fears, they embrace the 10% Target, and they create everyday, life-long habits to get what they want. Bigger, Better, Bolder brings listeners one step closer to boldness, one chapter at a time.

Might be a better physical read than an audiobook
Revisado: 07-27-23
I couldn’t focus on what the author was trying to say here. It is very rambling, and sounds like a personal account of what the author has gone through vs. actual advice and steps. The first chapter (where I stopped and returned it) was just statements about experiences as a child that could affect your confidence but the way it was written “Your mom and sister were confident but you were more like your dad” “You wanted to be in the play even though you couldn’t dance or sing” was really off putting because absolutely none of those scenarios applied to me. I kept drifting off and then I’d focus back in and be absolutely baffled as to what she was talking about. The author also reads the book, and her delivery is not engaging, she could be reading a grocery list. This might be a better physical read than an audiobook, but unless you are established with this author and understand her basic message you might be scratching your head as to exactly what she’s trying to accomplish.

Historia
There are all sorts of reasons people procrastinate. What are yours? This book draws on scientific research on procrastination conducted over more than 20 years by the author and his colleagues, to help you learn what stops you from getting things done so that you can find the solutions that will really work. Contrary to conventional wisdom, chronic procrastination is NOT about poor time management, but about self-sabotaging tendencies that can prevent you from reaching your full potential.

Modern problems need modern solutions. Not this.
Revisado: 02-26-23
I was hoping for something new and some creative strategies for dealing with chronic procrastination in today's post-pandemic age of phones, social media, and endless distractions. This book just struck me as being terribly outdated. Lots of "hustle culture" thinking, and tons of shaming people for struggling mentally to get things done. If you are under the age of 50 I would take a pass. I'm 47 and this sounded like my parents or grandparents lecturing me. Lots of mentions of "buying that expensive coffee drink" and shaming of basically everything except spending your life slaving away to the corporate machine. At one point he even mentioned how modern appliances give us the equivalent of 33 days of vacation per year or some baloney like that.
Same old nonsense, broken down chapter by chapter with an insulting tone. "PROCRASATINATORS" do this blah blah blah.
Lots of different ways procrastinators self-sabotage are listed out in excruciating detail, but I only have an hour and 3 minutes left and I'm giving up on hearing any sort of strategic or actionable solutions beyond "Just do it on time, and don't wait, early to bed, early to rise" tropes. Maybe that's all in the juicy last hour but I just can't sit through another minute of this condescending book. I'm sure the author can balance a checkbook, drive stick shift, count back change, and any other number of things that are completely obsolete today, but there's no modern solutions to be found here.

Historia
When it comes to the “hard seasons” of life—the death of a loved one, divorce, loss of a job—transformation seems impossible when grief and uncertainty dominate your days. Especially when, as Didn’t See that Coming reveals, no one asks to have their future completely rearranged for them. But, as Rachel Hollis writes, it is up to you how you come through your pain—you can come through changed for the better, having learned and grown, or stuck in place where your identity becomes rooted in what hurt you.

The more I learn about the author the more her viewpoints and opinions are tainted for me, and this book is now unenjoyable.

How can so little be said in 1 hour?
Revisado: 04-21-21
I gave up after Chapter 3, I was about an hour in and nothing remotely useful had been said. There is so much time spent introducing the CFP, and the language is basic and vague. "A CFP has to take a difficult exam". No kidding, really? I thought you were going to go over some useful topics for the exam. It continues to refer you to the included pdf. I love to listen to podcasts and learn via audiobook, I was thinking I could supplement my study with some audio review. Nope. I'm returning this.
