Historia
No radio distress call ever crackled from the submarine USS Grunion. In 1942, under the fog of World War II, the vessel simply vanished without a trace. For nearly sixty-five years, only a dead silence lingered regarding the fate of the sub and its seventy-man crew—until now. Here author Peter F. Stevens reveals the incredible true story of the search for and discovery of the Grunion—as well as the navy’s shocking and willful cover-up of the submarine’s baffling disappearance.

Historia
The War Below is a dramatic account of extraordinary heroism, ingenuity, and perseverance—and the vital role American submarines played in winning the Pacific War. Focusing on the unique stories of the submarines Silversides, Drum, and Tang—and the men who skippered and crewed them—James Scott takes readers beneath the waves to experience the thrill of a direct hit on a merchant ship and the terror of depth charge attacks.

This book is one of the best books I have read about the submarine service of WWII. The documentary efforts of the author is very good in telling the story of the boat and it’s sailors. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn what it was really like for the gallant officers and men of the submarine service.

Historia
On the first Sunday in December 1941, an armada of Japanese warplanes appeared suddenly over Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and devastated the U.S. Pacific Fleet. Six months later, in a sea fight north of the tiny atoll of Midway, four Japanese aircraft carriers were sent into the abyss. Pacific Crucible tells the epic tale of these first searing months of the Pacific war, when the U.S. Navy shook off the worst defeat in American military history and seized the strategic initiative.

Pacific crucible. The lesson we should have learned
Revisado: 04-06-21
This book was as honest a review of war as I have ever heard. Looking at the position of the United States today it taught me that we have never learned. War is a endless dance that makes its people grow and attempt to become better people. Selfless acts of courage that make you give for the conmen good. During the present day we have forgotten the lessons of life that was sacrificed by our forefathers. We as a people need to remember those lessons and realize that history will repeat itself if we do not abide by the rules of our relationships. We live in a great country but if we are not careful we will become the bad of the future. This book was extremely well written and the I saw many instances that made me think of the mistakes of the past that could happen again. God has blessed America let us be thankful of what we have and live as brothers and sisters again.
