Beautiful and heart-breaking

I loved this story. I'm glad Pepper Winters was brave enough to be true to her characters. This story was so full of beautiful and heart-breaking life moments, ones nearly all of us face at some point in our lives, some sooner than others. It had a hold of me from the beginning, and knowing I would probably shed many tears, I couldn't stop listening. The narrators did a wonderful job bringing these characters to life, bringing forth the emotions throughout this story. I highly recommend it.

Heart-warming and heartbreaking

Loved this! The tale of a young boy breaking away from a horrible situation, with a surprise stowaway. The story of survival and friendship, that builds throughout is powerful. I love these characters and am curious to see if they find their HEA. You could feel the love and heartache between the two characters.

The narration and pacing was perfect. You could sense and feel the emotions, coming through as you listen, pulling you in to the story.

Dark & heart-wrenching

I continue to love this series. I feel terrible for Nila & Jethro with the things they go through. Jethro can no longer hold back his truth from Nila & she continues to remain strong no matter what the Hawks throw at her. Both are nearing the end of their ropes but find strength in each other. I remain on the edge of my seat curious at to what else this family has up their sleeves in order to extract an ancient debt that should have been dropped centuries ago. The narrator's do an excellent job inflecting so much emotion into their reading it pulls you in making you feel for the characters.

The intensity never stops and just keeps building

I loved this book. The debts get more intense and the tension builds. Can Nila survive anymore? Will Jethro ever face his feelings for Nila? Will we ever find out the truth? Just a few of the many questions that pop up with another ending that leaves you hanging in anticipation. The narration is perfect with their portrayal of the characters feelings, pulling you deeper into the story, causing you to get more attached to these characters. An intense, heart-racing, heart-stopping roller coaster of a ride where emotions are concerned.

Dark, twisty tale of monsters & love.

I loved this book! There were some dark moments but also some heartfelt ones once you were able to break past the layers. The narration was perfect, bringing the emotions into the reading, helping you feel for the characters, pulling you in. A dark, twisty tale that leaves you wanting to know what will happen next.

Pirates are hot!

I loved this story! I'd listened to a previous Replay novel by Nia and loved it so was excited when she'd announced Hooked. The characters are easy to relate to and I admire the strength each one has. The connection between them is intense and hot so when the scenes begin you can't help but squirm. The narrator does a great job of portraying both characters and anyone else you come into contact with through the story. He has a deep voice that just resonates when he reads Marcus' lines. I'm looking forward to more.

Gripping, hot, & intense!

I loved it!! I was pulled in wondering what would happen to Elle and if she'd find her happy ending. You could feel the chemistry between her & Penn and you just hope he's a certain someone but there's so many secrets! Their interactions at times are funny but oh so heated you can feel it sizzling. There's a few twists along the way and it ends with a cliffhanger leaving you anxious for the next book so you can discover some answers to these secrets and questions.
