Long and painful.

I finished this book by sheer grit and determination. It was a story that seemed to chronicle misery upon misery. It’s redemption was an ending filled with loss and a poignant sorrow. Id like to say that the ending of the story made the reading of it worthwhile, but it did not.

This book has one good sentence: “You are what you think about.” However, her definition of success and how she measures it do not correlate. The idea that the greatest success is to be wealthy is foolish. Equally foolish is the notion that single minded focus on becoming wealthy would guarantee success in the pursuit of it.

Great Book!!!

It is difficult to find good books on fasting and prayer. This is probably the best book I have found. Dave Clayton gets to the heart and transforms the way we view it. Fasting becomes more of a blessing than a sacrifice. It becomes something to look forward to rather than avoid. It is not the authors purpose to give an extensive study on prayer and fasting. Rather it is to stir the heart to hunger for what God does through practice.

The reader is so terrible I could hardly stand to listen to him. He mispronounced so many words I could not bear to listen. How do you manage to mispronounce vineyard???
The book was slow moving with little impact.

This is a book that remoa great deal of reflection on my part. It is to the readers advantage to pray their way through this. This is not a book on spiritual gifts. It is a book about being led by the Spirit and how that could impact our own lives as well as the world around us. I HIGHLY recommend this book!
