A Refreshing Story

Although this was in the horror section, and not a horror story, it is a fun listen. Julia Whelan does a wonderful job, narrating, and the story is fun and engaging until the end.

Wow - what a wonderful and touching memoir!

Every once in a while you find a book that surprises you with the depth of the story, and the impact it has upon you. This is one of those books. I was too young to understand what was happening during JFK’s presidency, or what his life was like during that time. This story let me peek into the world of the Kennedys, and also into the life of Jackie. As was her husband , she was an amazing woman!

I was sincerely disappointed with this book. A 4.2 rating suggests at least a decent, not remarkable, listening experience. I struggled to complete it. The plot was trite, the prose unoriginal and easily anticipated. The editorial comments intriguing! However, the story was a total let down! Purchased as an Audible Daily Deal - but surprisingly poor and not even worth the nominal cost.

While the story was well written and intriguing; like the First Wives Club, but not as developed as that plot. The characters were well-developed and elicited empathy from the listener, but hearing each chapter heading, including the bit about “a TED talk,” grew very annoying and I started to dread it, distracting from the overall story for me!
