Luci Christian Makes this Amazing

I love RS Grey but I have to rave about Luci Christian's narration here. She really outdid herself with the character of Madison. The story is good, pretty standard light romance. But the way she acted out Madison's character was stellar. Jason Clarke was also perfect in terms of casting.

An Inside Look at the NFL

I loved this story of catty NFL wives, a charity group similar to the worst of the Junior Leagues, and a swoon-worthy romance. The narration by January LaVoy was amazing. LaVoy is one seriously talented voice actor who nailed each character. Listen to this one for the narration alone!

Great narration, trivial story

First off, Lisa Cordileone is such a talented narrator and this story just proves it again. Listening to books she narrates is always a pleasure.

The story, however, takes a couple of pretty serious situations and treats them with a sweet touch that really does trivialize them. While the story overall is enjoyable, it truly does a disservice to the subjects it addresses.

What a surprise!

This was such a pleasure! What a surprise. I'm frequently asked to review audiobooks that have been self-published by authors who choose their own narrators. More often than not, it's either mediocre or a complete disaster. But this book was just delightful, a great story and great narrator to boot.

Matt Haynes was an excellent choice to narrate this story. He had just enough range to distinguish each voice and his use of accents was spot on. I think his narration made the story even better.

I learned a lot about surfing; I had no idea all the stuff that goes into it. I also liked the slow burn romance, taking it's time to settle into itself. The characters - all of them - were a lot of fun. The story moved along nicely and I felt like I was right there in balmy Bali, cool, damp Oregon and sunny San Diego. Actually it would have been nice to have stayed in Bali . . .

Goulden has renewed my faith in self-published books and author-published audiobooks. This was definitely a winner.

AMAZING.

Perfect ending.

And really I have to rave not just about the book but about the audiobook narration. Merrit Hicks was perfect for the voice of Reena. She also nailed Sawyer and Soledad. One of the great things she does is give you the action with the emotion - if the character is giggling, she giggles the dialogue. If the character sighs, she sighs. That can be a thing that's totally overdone - but here, it's just perfect.

I can't wait to own a physical copy of this book. I couldn't put it down and even slowed down the audio from 1.25 (which really worked for the cadence) to 1.0 for the last 5 chapters because I just didn't want it to end. I loved these characters. I loved this story. I loved this book.

Megyn Kelly at her best

If you're a fan, you'll appreciate this self-narrated autobiography. Megyn Kelly is a driven, successful woman who defines the idea that hard work pays off. It's inspiring, slight exhausting, and extremely well-narrated.

I got the print book for my husband for Christmas and then realised I wanted to read it too! So I downloaded the audio, of course.
