Ugh, this was everything that I wanted it to be! This is a beautiful girl/boy next door love story and that you really can fall in love with.

I love Vann and Brooklyn, but Adenrele Ojo just didn’t do for me with this one. I was so invested in the story but had a hard time finishing because of the sort-of, whiny inflections in her voice. And why does Brita sound like that? *cringe* I wanted to love this audio book, but it just fell a bit flat for me.

I will forever miss Mr. Dickey

As usual, Mr. Dickey did not disappoint. There were so many layers to Pi Suleman and I loved watched the each unfold. Although, the story of Pi’s father felt very ironic and sort of eerie right on the heels of our literary hero’s passing, but none the less, I enjoyed every second of this book.

I loved this story so much, but…

It was dragged out way too long for my personal taste. All of the drama in this book was sort of tedious. It drove me crazy waiting for them to tell each other all the things that needed to be said. It became too annoying after a while. So much so that I didn’t even wait to finish the book to write my review….and that’s something I normally don’t do. Overall the premise of the story and the performance were great, just drawn out way too long.

I wasn’t crazy about this one. The story was different, which I really loved, but I wish there was more depth into Carter’s background. I just always found myself wanting a little more. I also really did not like the female narrator. The more I listened to her the more uninterested I became in the story...but Jakobi was amazing as usual. The last two books in this series were just a little bit disappointing.

I...am...hooked!!!!

I wanted to wait until I finished the 2nd book in the series to formulate my opinion. Love, Emmanuel, and Wesleigh did not disappoint! I found myself not wanting to stop listening as each detail of Ashton and Tori’s story unfolded. Reading this book, I experienced almost every emotion on the human spectrum....that’s what makes this book so addictive. I cannot WAIT for the 3rd book in the series!

Great book but....

I’ve read the hard copy of this book before and fell in love with the story. So naturally I was very excited to see if become an audio book. However, the male narrator just didn’t cut it for me. I had a hard time staying engaged in the story while he was reading his parts. There was too much emphasis on the wrong words or something. Overall, his performance felt like watching a tv show with bad acting.

Such a fitting celebration for a Queen

I enjoyed every second of this beautiful memoir. As odd as it may sound, I feel honored and inspired to hear about the rich legacy of Ms. Tyson and feels so fitting that she was the one to tell her own story at the very tail end of her amazing life. The narrator really made it feel like I was sitting in the living room of Ms. Tyson’s home, hearing these stories straight from her mouth. Absolutely amazing!

I am in LOVE with this story...but

the narration in this one a struggle to get through. Adenrele used to be one of my favorite narrators, but her fake southern accent was so cringe worthy in this one. She also made Sharla’s voice sound so childish that it completely made me disinterested in the story at certain parts. However, as always, Ms. House delivered! This was such a beautiful and unique love story and I absolutely loved hearing it unfold. Chef’s kiss indeed.

An unnecessarily long yo-yo of emotions

Overall, the story was pretty good, but there were lots of unnecessary twists and turns that drew the story way longer than it needed to be. I found myself struggling to finish at the point where there was about 4 hours left in the book.
