I listened to all of these audiobooks
Revisado: 06-21-24
I listened to every one of these and the lady detectives are great. They get better and better and each book can be standalone but there is also a mystery that continues through all four so far. They are kind of like Cagny and Lacy and the reader makes them real people and shares there emotions and heartbreak and fears There are a lot of accents and personalities and none of them are demeaning but let you easily hear who is talking and the reader does a seriously super job of getting you right into the story with the girls and their sidekicks and their enemies including the archenemy from their past who is hunting them down. I really hope there is another Lassiter and Martinez case file coming up and I will definitely listen to more from this writer.

It's sure not a conspiracy and never was
Revisado: 06-21-24
I really liked this book and all those who denied this as a conspiracy theory are proven wrong and Alison Young is right. Even though she was blocked at every turn by the administration and bureacrats who didn't want the world to know the truth, she wrote a really good exposee. It is hard to see why ths country tries so hard to protect China but that is what they're doing. This book was a super listen and reader kept my interest and even gave it the tension and suspense in places that you hear in a thriller novel.

Complicated b ut good
Revisado: 06-21-24
This book dragged a little in spots and it was hard to keep the characters straight. There wasn't enough difference in the voices and that made the story hard to follow in some places. But overall, excellent spy novel with a twist that you could see coming, but didn't affect the intrigue.

Spiritual warfare is real
Revisado: 08-20-23
Great series and it made everything come to life even the more fantastical devil portrayals and darkness. The narrator wasn't to my liking since he made it a little too melodramatic but other than that had a pleasant voice. All the characters were well-written and the story kept moving along and the military details made it more real. I am not sure how close it is to the Bible in depicting the Devil and Satan but it might scare the hell out of you! Good listen for a long car ride

Historia
After everything that the citizens of Beartown have gone through, they are struck yet another blow when they learn that their beloved local hockey team will soon be disbanded. What makes it worse is the obvious satisfaction that all the former Beartown players, who now play for a rival team in Hed, take in that fact. Amidst the mounting tension between the two rivals, a surprising newcomer is handpicked to be Beartown's new hockey coach. Soon a new team starts to take shape around Amat, the fastest player you'll ever see; Benji, the crazed lone wolf; and Vidar, a born-to-be-bad troublemaker.

I'm hopelessly addicted to th Beartown books
Revisado: 08-20-23
I follow narrators I love and Marin Ireland did not disappoint. It helps that the author is also one of my favorites but this trilogy was SO GOOD! I think I actually listened to them in the wrong order but it still worked for me and I cried when I finished the first one. The only tiny egative thing was that the narration was tad bit slow, but then I usually listen to audiobooks at 1.2 x normal speed so it was okay. Two of the books I read and listened depending on where I was and though I love the narrtor, I wanted to know what was going on faster, so switched to reading when I could. This will pull you in and make you love every character, even the bad ones! And I don't even like hocky.

Dark novel and disturbing
Revisado: 08-20-23
I got drawn into this because l like this reader but it is really dark. It got real deep into depression but the fantasy angle made it almost dark humor. In depth discussions of mental illness, and depression and alcoholism that got a little bogged down, but all in all in a good cop thriller. I actually liked it a lot after all that.

Revisado: 05-24-23
A Widow's Journey was beautifully written and read and I ended up needing it like a daily devotional. Even her voice was warm and gentle and healing. No body can take away that pain but knowing that it is a Journey and have some one feel your pain and loneliness is healing. This is the best audiobook ever for some one going through pain of losing a husband or wife. You have a friend to be there with you.

Riveting novel with intrigue for everyone
Revisado: 07-15-20
This is a great listen for anybody interested in aviation and just for anybody wanting a good fastpaced mystery novel with a lot of action and plot twists, especially at the end. I liked the characters and the narrator did a super job. I listened to some of her other audiobooks but this author is new to me and I really enjoyed listening. She kept me on the edge of my seat and I kept driving around at the end to listen to the last couple of chapters. It sounded like we might hear more from Josie and Brad and I'm going to look for more of Ms. Tarver's audiobooks!

Animal stories for kids to listen to with parents
Revisado: 05-13-20
This is true stories of animals who were destined for slaughter and who managed to escape and end up in good long lives. The idea of slaughterhouses might be disturbing to really little children but the reader doesn't make them sound frightening and each story ends well. Reader has a really good voice for thes kind of stories and the overall message is good for kids to learn. The animals and the humans who help them escape are read with warmth and humor and my kids were excited about some of the stories and the funny and interesting ways they got away. Good audiobook with a good message for kids maybe five and up. and there's information for grownups too at the end!

Was pretty basic but a good listen
Revisado: 05-13-20
This wasn't exactly a story but coming from Warren Buffett's daughter it was a good insight into what makes him tick and good for investors in general unless you have been doing it a long time. Basic valuation techniques and instruction on general ways Buffett has made himself wealthy from investing.
The narrators made it interesting even for somebody who has done a lot of investing and for what could be a really dry book added some good understanding of the topic themselves. There is nothing worse than people who read audiobooks who don't really understand much of what they're saying and both of these narrators were excellent and obviously intelligent. So I listened to the whole thing even though I already knew most of what they said. Enjoyable and good for a person just starting out investing for themselves.
