Historia
Kathryn Broussard has managed her life with dignity and an I-know-you-have-feelings-but-I'm-coming-through-anyway attitude. She exudes confidence and control over the land much as a reigning queen rules her court. Her main focus - Grace, her daughter. Although grown, Grace depends on her mother's razor-sharp decision-making ability for everything. All is well in the land of dysfunctional mother-daughterhood until the unthinkable happens. Kathryn dies.

Nice, thoughful, quirky read
Revisado: 07-29-23
Cute, quirky read, with an interesting concept. I enjoyed the narration immensely, which was dynamic and immersive. The mother/daughter relationships were realistic and nuanced. Katheryn's storyline was creative and thoughtful; Gracie's was as well. The storyline overall, and the sense of intention, and the closure it provided for the reader, was also nicely done.

really enjoyed
Revisado: 03-30-23
Not typically my go to genre but I really enjoyed this story. it was quick and to the point, but I still really enjoyed the plot and character development and in such a short story that's a big feat. The narration was also really great, and the characters sounded diverse. I enjoyed the ambient noise in this as it was skillfully used.

Garnet Stone loves working there just as much as reading books. She works hard to keep the store’s nosy cat out of trouble while tidying the sales floor. But when the owner of the bookstore, Teresa, unexpectedly passes away, Garnet learns that she left everything to her niece, Jane.

Really enjoyed this!

This was a really enjoyable read. First off, the narration was great. The story was paced out nicely for character development and plot, and really unfolded and evolved in a way where I couldn't wait to pick back up from where I left off. I can't wait until the next installment, and am excited to see where the story line leads next.
