Historia
When Paul enters university in early 1970s Pittsburgh, it’s with the hope of moving past the recent death of his father. Sensitive, insecure, and incomprehensible to his grieving family, Paul feels isolated and alone. When he meets the worldly Julian in his freshman ethics class, Paul is immediately drawn to his classmate’s effortless charm. Paul sees Julian as his sole intellectual equal — an ally against the conventional world he finds so suffocating.

Painful in every way possible
Revisado: 12-21-24
Nothing but young adult obsession, psychosis, and codependency all delivered in a plodding and ultimately meaningless slog. Nothing redeeming in this, simply obsession and codependency.

Trump unfiltered and in his own words and voice.
Revisado: 10-03-24
While I am not a Trump fan I felt it only fair to hear him in his own voice and allow his words to tell me and show the man he truly is. I applaud Mr Woodward for his even and fair questioning of President Trump and giving him the space and opportunity to explain himself. I only wish my fears and thoughts on who President Trump is had been alayed unfortunately President Trump only confirmed my greatest fears. As we prepare to vote I would suggest everyone listen to President Trump's own words and consider them at the ballot box.

Historia
At first, it looks like a disease. An epidemic that spreads through no known means, driving its victims mad with memories of a life they never lived. But the force that’s sweeping the world is no pathogen. It’s just the first shock wave, unleashed by a stunning discovery - and what’s in jeopardy is not our minds but the very fabric of time itself. In New York City, Detective Barry Sutton is closing in on the truth - and in a remote laboratory, neuroscientist Helena Smith is unaware that she alone holds the key to this mystery...and the tools for fighting back.

Only a handful of great lines in an otherwise tangled mess of a word salad.
Revisado: 07-02-24
Only my commitment to finish any book I start took me across the finish line. IMO nothing of merit to make me want to finish. just a lot of words and acts repeated at nauseum with no science or even philoposhy to back up the memory/time travel premise of this book. Meh at best. Glad it was thrown in for free with another purchase.

Dacen Becker: New guy in town. Wants to finish high school as peacefully as possible. No angst, no drama, play soccer, make some new friends. As one of the only hipster-clothes-wearing, luxury-vehicle-driving teenagers in a sea of plaid, camouflage, and loud souped up trucks, he unfortunately sticks out like a sore thumb at Knoxton Falls High School. Lucky for him, he’s a handsome, fun-loving guy with a heart of gold that everyone warms up to quickly. Well, almost everyone...but Dacen’s not one to back down from a challenge.

Nothing but teen drama and lack of communication
Revisado: 11-06-22
I struggled to finish this, the inability of the two main characters to have any emotional intelligence or ability to communicate and the never ending teen love drama got to be tedious and painful. I won't be revisiting this series or likely the author. Do not recommend.

Historia
When Jackson's son born through surrogacy came out to him at age 15, the successful producer, now in his 50s, was compelled to reflect on his experiences and share his wisdom on life for LGBTQ Americans over the past half-century. Gay Like Me is a celebration of gay identity and parenting, and a powerful warning for his son, other gay men, and the world. Jackson looks back at his own journey as a gay man coming of age through decades of political and cultural turmoil.

A little repetitive in it's warning at times.
Revisado: 09-30-22
Many of his words to his young adult son resonated deeply with me given I am of a similar age to the author and experienced many of the same things as he, the same way; but at times his warnings felt a little too extreme and repetitive so the impact was maybe lost and it made me prone to tune out in parts of the last half of the book.

Weak character development and story. Blah
Revisado: 06-21-21
I personally dislike narration with too strong accents so the narrators definitely detracted from my enjoyment a bit, but my overall dissatisfaction was with the story and characters. As LGBT scifi it was ok but as scifi in general it was subpar and lacking for me.

Historia
Why do otherwise intelligent individuals form seething masses of idiocy when they engage in collective action? We may think that the Great Crash of 1929, junk bonds of the '80s, and over-valued high-tech stocks of the '90s are peculiarly 20th century aberrations, but Mackay's classic - first published in 1841 - shows that the madness and confusion of crowds knows no limits, and has no temporal bounds.

Revisado: 03-17-21
I was looking for a book that gave insights into the why of the human behavior in these instances but this book just seems to be long drawn out stories of the what happened. stopped a few chapters in and will be returning. Not what I thought.

Historia
Caleb Michaels is a 16-year-old champion running back. Other than that his life is pretty normal. But when Caleb starts experiencing mood swings that are out of the ordinary for even a teenager, his life moves beyond "typical". Caleb is an Atypical, an individual with enhanced abilities. Which sounds pretty cool except Caleb's ability is extreme empathy - he feels the emotions of everyone around him. Being an empath in high school would be hard enough, but Caleb's life becomes even more complicated when he keeps getting pulled into the emotional orbit of one of his classmates, Adam.
