Historia
After fleeing an abusive husband with her six-year-old son, Tommie, Beverly is attempting to create a new life for them in a small town off the beaten track. Despite their newfound freedom, Beverly is constantly on guard: she creates a fake backstory, wears a disguise around town, and buries herself in DIY projects to stave off anxiety. But her stress only rises when Tommie insists he’d been hearing someone walking on the roof and calling his name late at night.

Ugh.
Revisado: 11-19-22
I normally LOVE sparks but this book was just a disappointment to me. I feel so sad to have wasted a credit on it - I kept waiting for it to “get good” and it was just “ugh” for me.

He said, she said, I said
Revisado: 06-13-19
Oh my dear heavens, I wanted to poke my ears out with the amount of the book that read as follows
“Blah blah blah” I said
“Blah blah” he said
“Blah” I said
“Blah blah blah” he said
I said, he said, I said, she said..... over and over and over.
The narrator’s “accents” were terrible, too, but not as bad as the incessant amount of “I said, he said” .... I really wanted to enjoy the lighthearted story, but I was struggling
