Not at all what I expected.

Admittedly, I picked the book based on the title not on the author, with whom I was completely unfamiliar. Had I been, I would have simply swiped left, and moved on. Apparently his rude and crude style is well known. And that's not to my taste. I only made it to chapter 3 before I gave up. I sampled the other chapters, but It's clear to me that Chuck Palahniuk has a very different idea of, haunted, than I do. Haunted, in this book is more internal than external. I was expecting ghosts and he was offering grotesques. That doesn't make his writing bad. But just like a popular "Hello Fresh" meal that failed to meet my expectations, I give this book one star, so that they won't send me that "meal" again.
