Historia
Lago was only a child when the shapeshifter entrusted the wolf-like mask to his care—an artifact so powerful that it could come to shape the entire world of Noss. Now that he is coming of age, Lago is becoming ever more fearful of the ominous relics influence, of the empire who has scented its trail and is coming after it. Coming after him.

Detailed world and story leaving you with questions and edging you to continue forward
Revisado: 06-05-24
I really enjoyed reading this first book of the series. Each character is given a bit of time to breathe a little and just enough on a few to have you wonder. The world is beautifully described and detailed. While you don’t need to see the maps I’ll highly recommend that you do head over to the writers website and look at the additional materials as it really fleshes out this fantastic world of Noss Joaquin has created. He’s able to describe the goings on and daily life and uniqueness of the world with a flow that feels natural and doesn’t trail off the path. Each character is given a delightful bit of depth that makes each very memorable. Highly recommend folks give this series a read.

Historia
At the turn of the 22nd century, scientists make a breakthrough in human spaceflight. Through a revolutionary method known as somaforming, astronauts can survive in hostile environments off Earth using synthetic biological supplementations. With the fragility of the body no longer a limiting factor, human beings are at last able to journey to neighboring exoplanets long known to harbor life. A team of these explorers, Ariadne O’Neill and her three crewmates, are hard at work in a planetary system 15 light-years from Sol, on a mission to ecologically survey four habitable worlds.

It was decent but a bit pretentious

I liked the story but I felt some of the tension just didn’t need to be there and some of the decisions just wouldn’t mesh well with people you’d want to be on a multi year multi planet mission.

Tried to like this
Revisado: 04-30-22
Maybe it’s just the translation of this novel but this is one of the rare times I’ve had to just stop reading a book because of the absolute BS they’ve written themselves in. I’ll try to avoid spoilers this story did start off strong I felt it devolved into a silly Bond villain esque type antagonist and personally it was boring felt if they would of made the organization much more clandestine and mysterious it would of kept me hooked then half way in their all just a bunch of nut jobs and spoiling several characters that would of been more impactful had they kept their involvement secret.

Historia
The human soldiers stranded on the planet Paradise have been recruited into an alien legion to do the dirty jobs that the high-tech species won't do. Their first mission is to kick the enemy off a backwater planet no one cares about. It's a simple assignment, except everyone has a hidden agenda, and the planet could become a deathtrap.

Jates is my favorite lizard character. I really enjoy the series and these side line series where you get to see how the rest of the gang is holding up. Looking forward to reading more.
