Everything Andy Weir writes seems to be gold. Project Hail Mary is no different, and in fact, has become my favorite title by this magnificent author. Everything within this book, from the smallest characters to our intrepid heroes are painted with expert precision, and draws you in so completely, you swear you're actually in the story. And to compliment this wonderful story, is the expert narration of Ray Porter. Although I believe I would have enjoyed this story with most any other narrator, it would not have been nearly as rich as it is under the beautifully crafted narration of Porter. His skills at finding character voices, and presenting them is such a way as to actually bring them to LIFE, is a skill that most narrators seek their entire careers to master. I am not ashamed to say that multiple times throughout the audiobook, Porter made me laugh out loud, and even shed a tear as I journeyed along with the characters, that's how effective his acting is. And I just discovered that Project Hail Mary is being adapted into a movie and although I am excited to see it when it does come out, I have doubts it'll bring the story to life half as well as Ray Porter did. I hope the producers don't blow it, and offer Porter the part of Rocky's voice!! Well done!

This is such a fun story. A great take on the horror genre and well worth the time to listen. Todd Haberkorn is an amazing narrator, making each character come to distinct life.

A classic story based upon reality, with characters so richly created by Sinclair. Wonderfully read by Peter Lerman, who brings these characters to life with amazing clarity.

A great quick education on what the term so many have used without actually knowing what it is. A term that has been weaponized by the masses. Narrator Peter Lerman presents an interesting subject in a precise and authoritative manner, as usual. It's easy to forget that Lerman is not actually the author. A timely and well presented book.

A great introduction to the life of a literary genius, and a must listen for children and adults alike. Although at times the text offers what seems to be excessively minute details, it all actually lends well to the biography of Harriet Beecher Stowe. Narration by Peter Lerman is perfect, his voice, cadence and performance gives one the impression of listening to a favorite professor chatting with colleagues over dinner. Never does the listener get the feeling Lerman is nothing less than professional, and quite easy to listen to.

I’ve been a fan of Star War since 1977, and have read/watched/listened to many offerings. Obi Wan has been one of my favorite characters since the beginning, and hearing an adventure from the Jedi Masters youth is a wonderful treat. Although at times Padawan can be a bit underwhelming, overall it’s a great addition to the Universe. As for the narrator, Gary Furlong, all I can say is amazing. Flawless in pacing, character voices and storytelling, he is without doubt a great narrator. Whatever lacks in this story, Gary more than makes up for. I look forward to hearing more Star Wars audiobooks from this narrator.

A Terrific Tale on Par with Monty Python

Morgan Hobbes has created a wonderfully enchanting and engaging world. Gustav Gustavson is undoubtedly history's most legendary Viking Warrior, or so Gustav himself tells us. Mr. Hobbes has written a world so vivid, that you actually feel as if you're on these amazing journeys with Gustav and his band of unlikely heroes. I would absolutely love more!! In the same style as the best Monty Python, I can actually see this tale as a movie.

As for Basil Sands' performance, I can sum it up in one word: Absolutely Fantastic and mesmerizing (OK, that's more than one, so sue me). Mr. Sands gives such life to this book that it's not hard to see why he's one of the best. He's a natural storyteller and performs the text with great character. Every single character in this book is brought to live in the most vivid way possible. This book is full of great humor, and Basil delivers that humor so naturally, that sometimes you have to back up the book to see if what you heard, you heard correctly! Without missing a beat! Morgan Hobbes and Basil Sands: an entertaining match made in Valhalla. If it were possible to give both 10 stars, I would.

A Great Book Brought To Life By A Wonderful Voice

If your heart is not on what God's is on, it doesn't matter how 'devout' you are with your religion, because thinking is different from loving. Sounds simple, but so many of us today have fallen into the trap of 'going through the motions' in our walk with God, that we've lost sight on the way we SHOULD be walking with God. You Are What You Love is an intense and powerful look into the role of worship in creating followers who are true disciples working toward following God's heart, with our own.

As important as this book is, it's made much more impactful through the narration of Claton Butcher. Claton's relaxed way of speaking lets one truly believe they are listening to the author himself. His voice is both soothing and commanding, bringing about the air of authority that allows you to KNOW he's channeling the author, and presenting the content in the way the writer intended to. If it were possible to give more than 5 Stars, I would.

What did you love best about Sphere?

Everything. The story is fantastic, though much different than the movie - which is a good thing. Although the movie is good, the book goes deeper (pun intended) and presents many, many more scenes/struggles.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Probably Norman, since he is pretty much that main character of the story. Not being a 'hard science' man, Norman has a bit of an inferiority complex, though he would be hard pressed to admit it. How Norman over comes that and ends up saving the day, is wonderful.

What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Soul. Scott's performance was so spot on, that I got lost in the story. Excellent talent.

Any additional comments?

Scott Brick is one of the audiobook industry's best, and for a reason. He is not only awesome in Sphere, he proves, beyond any doubt, why he's the Big Kahuna.

If you could sum up Operation Nimrod in three words, what would they be?

Interesting. Surprising. Informative.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It is. What makes is so is the excellent narration by Phillip Mather.

Any additional comments?

The narrator once again proves his skills in narration. Mr. Mather proves to be the quintessential voice for bringing history to life. I can easily picture the narrator as a favorite college professor, regaling his students with his talent to bring what could be ordinary historical tales to life in a way that both fascinates and educates.
