Historia
In a discontented kingdom, civil war is brewing. To unify the divided people, Conner, a nobleman of the court, devises a cunning plan to find an impersonator of the king's long-lost son and install him as a puppet prince. Four orphans are recruited to compete for the role, including a defiant boy named Sage. Sage knows that Conner's motives are more than questionable, yet his life balances on a sword's point - he must be chosen to play the prince or he will certainly be killed. But Sage's rivals have their own agendas as well.

Pete is a fantastic storyteller, and this book is no exception. I started this book and finished it the same day... I didn't want it to end. I am really hopeful that he will continue to create these magical worlds and fantastic characters.

Revisado: 10-24-23
I met the author at an event, and he talked me into trying out this trilogy. It's a very interesting survival story that kept me hooked. I enjoyed the story and felt bad for the main character as so many things go poorly for him. Here's hoping there will be more.

Historia
Peggy Rowe’s story of growing up as the daughter of Thelma Knobel is filled with warmth and humor. But Thelma could be your mother. She's the person taking charge - the one who knows instinctively how things should be. They clashed from the beginning - Peggy, the horse-crazy tomboy, and Thelma, the genteel-yet-still-controlling mother. When major league baseball came to town in the early 1950s and turned sophisticated Thelma into a crazed Baltimore Orioles groupie, nobody was more surprised and embarrassed than Peggy.

Historia
When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity. Cloning, feel-good drugs, anti-aging programs, and total social control through politics, programming, and media: has Aldous Huxley accurately predicted our future? With a storyteller's genius, he weaves these ethical controversies in a compelling narrative that dawns in the year 632 A.F. (After Ford, the deity). When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity.

not for everyone
Revisado: 11-03-17
So this sounded like a book I would probably enjoy. It had the scifi futuristic "utopian" society and interesting characters. Where it fell flat for me was the ending... It didnt really have an ending. The story just kind of stopped. It left me confused and asking myself what i had just listened to and why had I wasted my time. It left me feeling very unsatisfied and wanting more, if for no other reason than to give the characters a definitive ending.
