Historia
Touch is an electrifying thriller by the author of The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August and 84K. He tried to take my life. Instead, I took his. It was a long time ago. I remember it was dark, and I didn't see my killer until it was too late. As I died, my hand touched his. That's when the first switch took place. Suddenly, I was looking through the eyes of my killer, and I was watching myself die. Now switching is easy. I can jump from body to body, have any life, be anyone. Some people touch lives. Others take them. I do both.

it's easy to comprehend the author's many messages in this metaphorical tale of action, sex, adventure, love, murder and betrayal.

its good and all but...
Revisado: 04-29-21
The narrator did a great job. The story is fast paced and well written, but in the end it's like... what was the point of this story? Why did he even go back in the first place? And I feel like this was stupid.

It's America in 1962. Slavery is legal once again. The few Jews who still survive hide under assumed names. In San Francisco, the I Ching is as common as the Yellow Pages. All because some twenty years earlier the United States lost a war - and is now occupied by Nazi Germany and Japan.

Historia

Historia
Harry August is on his deathbed. Again. No matter what he does or the decisions he makes, when death comes, Harry always returns to where he began, a child with all the knowledge of a life he has already lived a dozen times before. Nothing ever changes. Until now. As Harry nears the end of his 11th life, a little girl appears at his bedside. "I nearly missed you, Doctor August", she says. "I need to send a message". This is the story of what Harry does next, and what he did before, and how he tries to save a past he cannot change and a future he cannot allow.

Ok.
Revisado: 06-16-17
It was an interesting concept, a nice story, and I enjoyed it. My only complaints are: 1. Many times chonology of years, and people's ages is entirely forgotten. He might say many times he was born in 1919, but somehow sometimes in 1925 he's 6, other times he's 7. it's little things like that that are recurring, and i find frustrating. 2. throughout the whole book i associated, agreed, and rooted for the antagonist and disagreed constantly with Harry's moral driving compass. i thought that if i were one of them i'd support Vincent over the Cronus anyday, and that the morals of Harry August against his enemy have no thorough structure other than a foundation on fear of change, and valuing the irrelevant. It's hard to truly like a book where the driving force of the protagonist's moral compass seems stupidly scewed by fear.

This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

Good
Revisado: 06-09-17
It was good because there was a lot of depth to the tale and a significant purpose in it's sociological study, and interesting idea and a statement on humanity as a whole. I think it might be overrated though, to call it King's best book would be an overstatement in my opinion, I have others that I liked better. It's can be slow, a bit monotonous and tedious at times too.

Good
Revisado: 04-27-17
It was a good book as usual. They all are. Edward matures, Uhtred grows old, time passes, life stays interesting. All of the books are books you can't stop listening to. It's true that Stephen Perring's voice doesn't have the same gruff agressive quality that all the other narrators had, and it's true that he pronounces everything differently but you get used to it, it's not bad, because if this were the first book you listened to you would say he had done a phenomenal job so just because it's different doesn't mean it's bad once you get accustomed to it.

I have no complaints. Usually I hate a switch in narrators in a series. Yet here the narrator did a phenomenal job, just as good as the last. Unique in his own younger, more arrogant style, but still representing Uhtred's personality. It was an awesome story, and I really enjoy them Thank you.

January 1864: General Robert E. Lee faces defeat. The Army of Northern Virginia is ragged and ill-equipped. Gettysburg has broken the back of the Confederacy and decimated its manpower. Then, Andries Rhoodie, a strange man with an unplaceable accent, approaches Lee with an extraordinary offer. Rhoodie demonstrates an amazing rifle: its rate of fire is incredible, its lethal efficiency breathtaking - and Rhoodie guarantees unlimited quantities to the Confederates. The name of the weapon is the AK-47.

Good Story, very slow at times. Halfway decent narrator, good intonations, good and clear effort. The only problem with the narrator is that every voice sounds relatively the same. Literally every voice!! Also the book is very slow at times, throughout the middle. Otherwise I liked it.
