A good post-pandemic sales primer

Bruce covers a lot of territory in this book. I enjoyed hearing about his early sales training as much as I appreciated his evaluation of our post-pandemic sales environment, challenges, and suggested adaptations.

Readers may not agree with all his recommendations as to tactics, but his emphasis on the importance of personal selling, building trust, and face-to-face meetings is spot on.

Even though the content is directed specifically at my field of work, enterprise software sales, I believe all salespeople professionals will enjoy and benefit from the advice in this book.

Is the current political discourse really necessary?

I had great expectations for this book, but the constant left-leaning political commentary made it Ness art for me to skip over portions.

If by “modern stoicism” the author means “progressive” or “enlightened,” then she succeeded.

Alonso, it is set squarely in the pandemic and speaks almost exclusively to that past era.

But as a text for learning about ancient Stoicism and possible applications to today’s post-pandemic challenges, it failed me.

Retread with some major flaws

Let’s see if I heard this right -
1. Be like Lance Armstrong (lie, chest and steal)
2. Be like Jim Rome and get ahead at any cost, including trashing people and throwing fits if you don’t get your way
3. Abandon relationships with anyone who does not make as much money as you want to make
