Historia
At a time when toxic individualism is rending our society at every level, bestselling author and renowned marriage counselor Terrence Real sees how it poisons intimate relationships in his therapy practice, where he works with couples on the brink of disaster. The good news: Warmer, closer, more passionate relationships are possible if you have the right tools. In his transformative new book Us, Real brilliantly observes how our winner-takes-all culture infiltrates families with devastating results.

Life-changing
Revisado: 10-28-22
This book demonstrates through extraordinary and entertaining measures how to effectively communicate with each other as well as how to navigate through disruptions in a marriage. I am overwhelmed by how helpful, enlightening and informative this method has been already and will be for my relationship going forward. Five stars seem too few - it's a life changer, friends. I wish he wrote it (and I read it) years ago.

Gripping
Revisado: 09-06-21
I found this podcast to be a compelling, creepy and gripping examination of the murder of a young man in the Australian Northern Territory. The journalist details a very thorough study of all the characters involved and sums up nicely at the start of each episode to help recap. I binged it on a long drive and it easily aided in the drive with its compelling story arcs. Highly recommend. That said, the podcast concludes while leaving open a few remaining questions -- SPOILER ALERT - why was the man found naked, why were his genitals mutilated, who is the owner of the single flip flop? The journalist fails to tie up these loose ends and my assumption is - he does not know the answers to these questions. My heart goes out to the family of Jimmy ~ may they one day find peace.

Historia
Laurie is sure love at first sight doesn't exist anywhere but the movies. But then, through a misted-up bus window one snowy December day, she sees a man who she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there's a moment of pure magic...and then her bus drives away. Certain they're fated to find each other again, Laurie spends a year scanning every bus stop and cafe in London for him. But she doesn't find him, not when it matters anyway. Instead they "reunite" at a Christmas party, when her best friend, Sarah, giddily introduces her new boyfriend: the man from the bus.

Predictable but charming
Revisado: 07-16-20
Sometimes you just need a little bit of romance. This is a great beach read. It is light, it is charming and it captures the essence of friendship and loyalty. Overall, it was fun to listen to while I drive around town. Spoiler alert, it has a happy ending. No surprise there
