Historia
In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

this was definitely worth the time. retro flashback to the 80's and the world of early video games, blended with WOW. I enjoyed it very much, I suppose that means that my inner geek is showing.

I like the mixture of political and military pressures blended into a story difficult to set aside until finished. Two thumbs up.

A welcome surprise as a well written and well narrated yarn. The characters navigate a believable and interesting path of destruction without breaking the suspension of disbelief. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a good tale of intrigue and diabolical intent.

A good story
Revisado: 01-19-18
The story is a decent vampire yarn with an interestingly different approach. Can not recommend this to listeners, would likely prefer to read it.
The narrator really needs to go back to story telling school. Truly one of the least pleasing I have heard in a very long time.

Sick and simple minded
Revisado: 08-29-17
Full of impossible and inconsistent story line, supposed vengeance yet insensible. I thought it might be interesting but even a bare glimpse was just boring. Cutting off body parts, yet victims yell and threaten, just unbelievable.

Historia
He was a hard-working small business owner, an Army veteran, an attentive lover, and a doting father. But he was also something more, something sinister. A master of deception, he was a rapist, arsonist, and bank robber, and a new breed of serial killer, one who studied other killers to perfect his craft. He methodically buried kill-kits containing his tools of murder years before returning to reclaim them.

Fascinating story of evil
Revisado: 04-05-17
The subject of this story is truly evil. His story leaves one questioning the true nature of humanity. The actions and decisions of this man were so coldly calculating that he is a clear example of the sociopath.
Unfortunately the narrator has a stilted, halting style that truly challenges one to enjoy what is otherwise a very interesting story. Ugh one of the worst I have had to suffer through.

Interesting read
Revisado: 02-23-17
I just finished the series and found it entertaining. The end was "nice" in that the good guys won. While the rhythm was consistent and the characters fairly believable, the storytime happy ending just didn't ring true. Unfortunately it almost seemed that the storyteller just wanted to end things and send the main characters home to their folks.
Not a bad read but, well, tough to find immersion.

I have always loved stories by SK and this one is one of the most authentic in his genre of well defined, well developed characters struggling with a really scary evil. Awesome!
