Historia
Doug and Judy have both had a secret power all their life. Judy can see every possible future, branching out from each moment like infinite trees. Doug can also see the future, but for him, it's a single, locked-in, inexorable sequence of foreordained events. They can't both be right, but over and over again, they are. Obviously these are the last two people in the world who should date. So, naturally, they do.

I love Sherlock Holmes and love Andy Weir’s work. This is as wonderful as Lyndsay Faye’s Holmes works.

Typical space opera with less than thoughtful fantasy elements thrown it to cover a lack of plot.

Historia
Lyndsay Faye - international best seller, translated into 15 languages, and a two-time Edgar Award nominee - first appeared on the literary scene with Dust and Shadow, her now-classic novel pitting Sherlock Holmes against Jack the Ripper, and later produced The Whole Art of Detection, her widely acclaimed collection of traditional Watsonian tales. Now Faye is back with Observations by Gaslight, a thrilling volume of both new and previously published short stories and novellas narrated by those who knew the Great Detective.

Absolutely loved it!
Revisado: 02-15-22
Intellectual yet very human. Ms Faye has used many different viewpoints to deepen our relationship with Mr Holmes. She is different than Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, but in many ways better!

Eisenhower, Smith delivers a rich account of Eisenhower’s life using previously untapped primary sources. Author is not a military expert!
Revisado: 03-27-21
It is inappropriate for a journalist to give his uninformed opinions criticizing military decisions made by informed participants.

Historia
Here at last is a history of England that is designed to entertain as well as inform and that will delight the armchair traveler, the tourist, or just about anyone interested in history. No people have engendered quite so much acclaim or earned so much censure as the English: extolled as the Athenians of modern times, yet hammered for their self-satisfaction and hypocrisy. But their history has been a spectacular one.

Poor grasp of economics
Revisado: 02-27-21
The author can’t bring himself to admit that the economic situation after WW2 couldn’t support major welfare projects. Germany and Japan used their Marshal plan money to build industrial capacity while England and France spent their’s on welfare.

Historia
The extraordinary career of George Catlett Marshall - America’s most distinguished soldier - statesman since George Washington - whose selfless leadership and moral character influenced the course of two world wars and helped define the American century. Set against the backdrop of five major conflicts - two world wars, Palestine, Korea, and the Cold War - Marshall's education in military, diplomatic, and political power, replete with their nuances and ambiguities, runs parallel with America's emergence as a global superpower.

Prejudiced view point
Revisado: 02-14-21
The author’s view that all historical figures should be judged by today’s views on race are totally misplaced. People who had no control over race relations should not be downgraded for not improving them. He should condemn FDR and Wilson who had control. Obama’s speech is totally inappropriate!
