I totally agree with Lisa. I tried very hard to follow the action and started the novel once and again but I had to give up. Do not waste your credit on this one.

Amazingly stupid
Revisado: 06-10-04
The worst Audible I have ever tried to listen to (but never finished). A waste of time and neurons. I wish I had read Shannon's review: I really have regreted this download.

I fully agree with Scott (Melrose, MA, USA) and I would add that the narrator does not help much.

Sectarian
Revisado: 01-07-04
Very good plot with a great dose of imagination and really easy to hear to. A pity that fiction is mixed with reality and Opus Dei is presented in a total unrealistic and sectarian way. The novel would have been really great if both the guardians and the attackers of the holy grial were as fictious as the grial itself.

I could not finish the fisrt part
Revisado: 11-23-03
I totally agree with Brenda. I thought my extreme difficulty in understanding the reader was due to english not beeing my mother language. I have been very reassured to know that some american people also finds this audio confusing and difficult to understand. I will not download any other book by the same reader.

Historia
"If Robert Littell didn't invent the American spy novel," says Tom Clancy, "he should have." In this spectacular Cold-War-as-Alice-in-Wonderland epic, Littell, "the American le Carre," takes us down the rabbit hole and into the labyrinthine world of espionage that has been the CIA for the last half-century. "Ostensibly a single novel, The Company can also be listened to as an anthology of cracking good spy stories," says ( Publishers Weekly).

John Grisham is always good, and the Street Lawyer is no different. It is the reader who was a magnificent surprise to me. From now on I am not sure if I will search my audible books by "John Grisahm" or by "Frank Muller"

Not so good, from my point of view
Revisado: 07-05-03
Sorry to add some shadows over an unanimous opinion. It could be my own lack of concentration, of course, but I had to make some effort to go on listening. I recognize the second part is brilliant but before reaching it one must suffer a too repetitive and introspetive section. Some of the characters of the book are poorly delineated and just confuse the reader (or listener). The plot and the way it is resolved in the end seem a bit naive to me. Half of the book could be spared.

Good but unfinished
Revisado: 06-15-03
This is my second novel by Patterson and "First to die" (what I read, not listened) is more complete. I wonder if the original book was split in two, being "Roses are red" just the first part and "Violets are blue" the second one. Unfortunately Audible does not have "Violets" for the moment. It leaves a flavour of incompleteness.

Historia
Four years ago, LAPD detective Harry Bosch was on a movie set, asking questions about the murder of a young production assistant, when an armored car arrived with $2 million cash for use in a heist scene. In a life-imitates-art firestorm, a gang of masked men converged on the delivery and robbed the armored car with guns blazing. The crime was never resolved, and the young woman's murder was in the stack of unsolved-case files Bosch carried home the night he left the LAPD.
