The author’s story is deeply compelling. Most stories stop when the protagonist achieves the dream, which in the case of companies is reaching the elusive $1 billion valuation club. But this story start the day after the dream. Like the anime One-Punch Man, we arrive to catch the protagonist achieving the dream and in an unclear yet explorative questioning of what’s next. This is the much needed part of the story of what happens after you have everything you’ve sought to acquire. The journey is engaging, the lessons are visceral and the resolution is one truly worthy of an anime ending. I wouldn’t dare share a spoiler. A must read for any unicorn dreamers… or any persons tired of pushing endlessly to the next level and wants to understand when enough might be enough.

I deeply liked the tone of the book. As a founder with a failed startup, I found a lot of value in the perspective of treating failure like the ultimate step to success.

I deeply enjoyed the Capricorn specific language. It was thoughtful and relaxing. I listened to it while waking up

A fantastic and quick read about how to ask great questions. And most importantly, how to listen to the answers.

A great book. Read by the author. It was compelling to think about all the challenges one has to deal with, and have the inside thoughts on historic events. Highly recommend.

As someone who has done work with the visually impaired for over a decade and who sits as an advisor on the Perkins School for the Blind advisory board, I’ve always been fascinated by the life of Helen Keller. And the book didn’t disappoint at all. Her mastery of English, French, German, convos with Alexander Graham Bell, and learning how to speak are feats any human would be proud to call their own. But more than a remarkable story of her personal journey, it highlights capability. How given modified tools to make information accessible, how well someone can succeed with respect to their disability. Highly recommend.

I grew up reading comics, and the real story is even far more interesting!

Written by a comic book insider, the book is well informed. A great story. A great life. I taught a class at the Kansas City Art Institute called Superpowered Products. My opening line to my group of foundation students was “if you can look at fiction as a source of product inspiration, Stan Lee gave us enough innovation for the next 100 years.” I cofounded a company that built a product helping the first blind person run the New York City Marathon (HapticNav in the AppStore). When I gave presentations to investors, I would mention our marathon feat, and jokingly I would end saying, “it’s like Daredevil… on a sick day”. So to finally learn of the life that was behind so many of the creations that inspired so many of my life choices and ways of being, was absolutely marvelous.

The book was deeply inspiring and just as deeply tearful. The unknown dangers dealing with discovery of radioactivity, the constant denial due to sexism and jealousy, and the legacy left through 3 generation of Curies is such a remarkable story that if it had been fiction it would have felt more real. But this all-too-real story is remarkably executed in manner than gives both due credit while search for the truths in the myths. I highly recommend.

A deeply comprehensive look into the life of one of the world’s preeminent artistic and scientific figures. As human as he was a genius, Leonardo’s proclivity for procrastination is paramount to his propensity for producing paintings, pageants and profound treatise of science, engineering, and anatomy that others would need to rediscover hundreds of years later due to both a lack of publishing and a pursuit of perfection. This book is one of the most engaging and thoughtfully put-together that I have personally encountered. Walter Isaacson delivers masterfully, and consistently, in his ability to share all the sides of the story along with his personal views of the subject without it getting in the way of formulating your own view. As with Albert Einstein and Steve Jobs, his story-telling is cross-referential, detailed and dedicated. It’s the book that Leonardo deserved, one who could put together his thousands of musings into a cohesive understandable narrative. All to say a wonderful read!

A well-written book that breaks down what we always knew, that there is no shortcut to Mastery in any field. Simply ridiculous enthusiasm and discipline stretch out over +10 years. The author does what they do best, pulling wonderful nuance out of historical study and framing for relevance in modernity.
