When a Centers for Disease Control quarantine fails at Ben Taub Hospital, a Houston SWAT Team is sent in to secure the facility. What they find is destruction and death. Trapped in the hospital, cut off from the world, a mysterious voice on the radio is all they have to guide them. They're no longer on a mission to quarantine the remaining inhabitants. Instead, they have to destroy a multiplying menace that could infect the world before the Federal Government enacts a final solution.

We don't like happy endings! I love it!
Revisado: 08-22-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
i would really, really recommend this book to a friend. it is scary and exciting. the author kills off characters i don't expect to lose. i love it!
What did you like best about this story?
the author does suvh a good job with description, i enjoy picturing myself in those rooms and corridors to see if i vicariously survive.
What does Paul E. Cooley bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
i thought he did a great job with the voices. i was really surprised. he also knows houston because it floods often, and we cannot get to work. ben taub is where these folks would have ended up, too.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
i wasn't moved traditionally. i empathized, but did not get caught up in sorrow. i did, however, get caught up in fear, thinking, "Go, man! Move it!" thus, i was very into the story and suspense.
Any additional comments?
I hope to heck he is ready to publish the next book. i can't wait!

took two tries to get into, but then WOW!
Revisado: 06-20-16
it starts slowly with a guy who has lost faith. ho hum. then it becomes unbelievably good. this narrator when he does the old man voice is beyond belief. i suspended my disbelief and for a time was entranced by the book and narrator. give it a try or two. you will agree with mw on 5 stars i will bet.

Historia
The first time violinist Julia Ansdell picked up the "Incendio Waltz" in a darkened antique shop in Rome, she knew it was a strikingly unusual composition. The minor key and complex feverish arpeggios have a life of their own. But when she plays the piece, Julia blacks out and awakens to find her small daughter implicated in acts of surprising violence. When she travels to Venice to find the previous owner of the music, she uncovers a heart-stoppingly dark secret....
