Epic and hits all the bases

Like Cervantes, Hugo, Tolstoy and Dickens Manzone can take history and story telling to almost cinescopic levels replacing the need for TV and movies. The pacing of personal drama with history events ie the plague and Italian feudal wars with Church local interventions is always amazing as I discover and rediscover the classics. This one fits very well. The audiobook makes the pages flow seamlessly.

A wishful random thought

It was a very well done adaptation of a on old theme which is of mans survival by accident.
There is a very compelling idea that there is another story of the invasion from the. Martian point of view where their survival is dependent on an equally heroic effort to save a dying alien civilization.

At least one more Father Brown and Dickens story. 🙏need another sample to get a better sense of the writers modus and detection style👌never enough Holmes or Poirot but too much for a balanced Omnibus anthology. Good selections and a great value👍🏻Well done.

Wonderfully retelling of the American story.

It was great to hear the story that is America and how unique it is. Of course there are deep cleaves but those pass and she rises to greatness.
I am 74 years old and many of the events the author relates are part of my story and I thank her serving as my reminder. Regardless of the current climate there is still a future of hope and a return to the trajectory which defines. Thanks for bringing it back

wow a city is a hero

There are few books begging for a sequel because the story is closed. The affair with Paris continues and will never be finished. McCullough has blazed the way for many succeeding tales of not just americans in Paris, but asians, north africans and every other nation's best, who have made the journey and have have had their way with this great lady who with ease accomodates them all.
