great series but man did it jump the shark.

I really liked the whole charm thing causing the girls to realize their attraction and how they want to live their lives together.... but when all the magic and crazy stuff started to happen it kind of lost me. it was too. much too fast and it became way too crazy with the whole vampire thing and it was just too much. Also Emily got really annoying in this book. Overall still worth a listen. Even if it's still kinda hard to differentiate speech and thought in many places.

great story and characters but gets political.

I really really liked almost everything about this story. and then the author started inserting random stuff about different political talking points. I get it, your views are your views but they really bled through here. And it wasnt in any meaningful way it was literally just "this happened and political bs is going on and character is against or for it." I just hate this kind of crap and takes me out of the story so bad.

seriously like wtf is with the pauses and lack of emotion when it's the female narrators turn to speak? like there will be a line where it's like. "she screamed out in rage. *female narrator proceeds to give a monotone line*" I'm just so thrown off by it that I had to stop listening 3 hours into the book. I'm sorry, I know we need to give new narrators a chance but damn can we give them some direction and dictation guides at least? it's like old dubbed anime where the voices were completely bland and sometimes the exact opposite emotions they should be. I wonder if the narrators even read the book before hand? I sad cause I love Virgils stuff but the narrators ruined this one.

Alyssa and Even can read the back of shampoo bottles and I would listen to it.

overall it's a very worthwhile and great value listen. in book three chapter 5 1hr 1:02:55 Alyssa has some trouble and it made me chuckle. I honestly love it when they leave these little bloopers in.

If you love Barbarian Chef avoid this.

I really enjoyed Barbarian Chef and thought this would be of the same quality. I don't know if this was a really early work of Austin's but it's a really rough listen. I dont know who edited this book but they failed in many many places. The MC is quite the simp and has tons of super cringe lines. Not to mention the opener is hard as fudge to listen to. Two Heisman trophies as a center? Probably the most unbelievable part of this book. Also the narrators. Oof. it's rare that the female is worse than the male. I know that there are tons of females in this book but there is little to no variation in the voices between them. If it wasn't a complete series I wouldn't have listened past the first book. Sorry but I just can't recommend this book.

Liked the story but Christian needs to go

I thought I could deal with Christian's voice but it became a immense struggle near the end. Hazel did an amazing job. every star in my review was thanks to her. But Christian's voice is so monotone and scraggly. ugh it's like. listening to someone who is talking like a tenured English professor that doesn't really care anymore and is too old for the job they are doing. I can't stress how much his old man voice grinds my gears when I imagine a character being a young man but the voice is a geriatric. I had to know what happened but forcing myself to listen to the second book was a mistake and I regret buying it. Read the book instead, please. Support the author but save yourself the pain.

Couldn't finish

I tried to listen to this book, but it was just too . . .meh. I lost my interest hard after hour 2 and just gave up. unfortunately I listened to too much to refund. The male VA was hard to listen too and the MC was a bit too much of a Gary stu and all the women flock to him without even trying. Usually I don't care but it's just done poorly.

Probably the weakest book in the series

Honestly if it wasn't for the ending, this book would have been just about worthless. There was very little substance to it and it made me a bit sad. I kept waiting for something to happen and the. The book was over. It did manage to get me salivating for the next book though. Also as I said on just about every other book. Jason! Please please please, of you can't get a different narrator, adding a female to help narrate would make this series take off into the stratosphere!!! I like narrator Jason, but it seems like he just doesn't have the heart he used to for this series. Sorry, but someone has to say it.

I can't listen to most men voice women anymore

I don't know if I have been spoiled or what but I couldn't get past the first book. The narrator was half decent with men, but the very first encounter of romance and I couldn't take it. I am sure this is a great value but for me, I just can't handle it, my second hand cringe was going off like crazy
