Historia
When Carrie Fisher recently discovered the journals she kept during the filming of the first Star Wars movie, she was astonished to see what they had preserved—plaintive love poems, unbridled musings with youthful naiveté, and a vulnerability that she barely recognized. Today, her fame as an author, actress, and pop-culture icon is indisputable, but in 1977, Carrie Fisher was just a teenager with an all-consuming crush on her costar, Harrison Ford.

Disappointing
Revisado: 12-02-16
Would you try another book from Carrie Fisher and/or Carrie Fisher and Billie Lourd ?
Possibly
Could you see The Princess Diarist being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
No
Any additional comments?
This book might have been more accurately named "My Three Month Affair with Harrison Ford and, Oh, We Were in Star Wars By the Way" Way too much of the book focuses on the showmance between the two stars. It got to the point where I was fast forwarding to get by a lot of it. Carrie is is bright and very funny but perhaps using her diaries as the foundation of the story wasn't a great idea. It was too limiting.

Historia
Twenty years after the fact, the mere mention of the 1992-93 NHL season brings back vivid memories for hockey fans across North America. The last time that the Montreal Canadiens hoisted the Stanley Cup, Wayne Gretzky's last appearance in a playoff final, and Mario Lemieux's most inspirational season, these years are rightly considered some of the greatest in NHL history. Now, in A Season in Time, acclaimed hockey writer Todd Denault looks back to those heady days.

Why Can't Narrators Pronouce Names Correctly?
Revisado: 11-11-16
If you could sum up A Season in Time in three words, what would they be?
Detailed, accurate, pronounciation
Who was your favorite character and why?
All of the players and coaches
Did Ken Maxon do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Yes and no. The pronunciation of many player names was horrible. I'm a longtime hockey fan and am very familiar with all of the players and coaches covered in this book. Ken Maxon butchered many of the names to the point that it detracted from the presentation. I don't understand why the producers of audio books do not insist that their narrators learn how to properly pronounce names especially in sports books.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No
Any additional comments?
Overall, this is an excellent account of a great NHL season but again, names, names, names. Get them right!

Historia
New York Times reporter Gerald Eskenazi brings us back to 1954, when the New York Giants began a decade of success as an iconic American sports team, winning six division titles between 1954 and 1963. Emerging from years of slumber, going from the Polo Grounds to Yankee Stadium, they produced a crop of hall of fame players whose names still resonate, including Tittle, Gifford, Greer, and Robustelli, making a then $7 New York Giants ticket the toughest to buy in the world of sports.

Good Memories, Sub-par narration
Revisado: 08-21-15
What did you like best about this story?
As a lifelong Giants fan starting in the mid-1950s, the book brought back a lot of warm memories of those great teams
What three words best describe Paul Boehmer’s performance?
Below standard narration. Throughout volume 1 Boehmer consistently mis-pronounces many of the names that as a longtime fan I am very familiar with. The Mara name is a primary example as is Harlan Svare, an excellent linebacker in the 1950s. There are many more as well. Oddly, in volume 2, some of the names are pronounced correctly..
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
History of a proud franchise
