Written by A.I.?
Revisado: 03-14-20
This book has so many mistakes, that it's almost worth buying, just for the laughs.
Almost.
It uses a lot of weird near-synonyms, like "scholar" for writer.
Copy is referred to as "duplicate."
And if I remember correctly "email locations" instead of email addresses.
David Garfinkel is referred to as Garfunkel half of the time.
The author even mangled the Roto-Rooter jingle.
There's a weird mistake like that every few minutes. These aren't mistakes that a human would make. So I really do think it was written by AI or was spun by a machine.
The book includes some decent advice, but I wanted a book I could listen to, not one I had to decipher. You'll do much better with a book from John Caples, David Garfinkel, Ray Edwards or dozens of other human copywriters.
And I'm sure this was written by someone unconnected to "that" George Lucas. (Unless R2D2 penned this.)
I have 187 books in my library. This is the third I'm requesting a refund for.

Historia
In this forceful manifesto Professor E. D. Hirsch, Jr., argues that children in the United States are being deprived of the basic knowledge that would enable them to function in contemporary society. They lack cultural literacy: a grasp of background information that writers and speakers assume their audience already has.

Should Have a PDF
Revisado: 09-22-18
As a "sorta" well-read high school drop out, this book was helpful. For decades, I have wanted to know what "they" know and what I missed out on by not going to college.
So, this book was very useful as is the St. John's College book list.
(I'll be working my way through both lists for the next 10 years.)
I just wish the appendix was available as a PDF. I found one on the Internet and could have photocopied the list at the library, but that shouldn't have been necessary IMO.

You Probably Already Know Most of This
Revisado: 08-16-18
This book contains very little information specific to content marketing.
I'm not a content marketer, so I'm not saying this because I've read the same information in other books. I'm saying it because the book is filled with fluff and general marketing advice that won't be news to you.
A must not read, IMO.
(The narrator is fine. It's not his fault. He's gotta read what they put in front of him.)

Fact: Your brain is being controlled - and you don't even know it. Because if you think the ads you're seeing today are just pretty pictures with nice, creative copy, you're mistaken. Truth is, you are being powerfully influenced by dozens of proven scientific principles of advertising psychology...little-known techniques of consumer persuasion that go completely unnoticed by the buying public.

Narrator Crushes It!
Revisado: 10-28-17
Great content. Even better narration.
The book goes over the basics plus some stuff I hadn't heard before.
The combination of the writing and the narrator makes everything more entertaining and therefore, easier to retain than any marketing book I've listened to before.
