Mini Review:

Merry Little Hate Notes by Jennifer Peel was such a fun read. I listened to the audiobook version but got the paperback for christmas thank you @heather.loves.books. IIn the paperback there are such really cute hate notes at the first of each chapter and even though I was listening I caught myself going to the chapters just to reread their little hate notes. I loved the hate notes and banter between the two characters. I loved Brandon's character. He was such a sweetheart and this story was heartwarming. Brandon’s wingman is probably one of my favorite wingmen of all time. If you're looking for enemies to lovers, workplace romance, witty banter, & forced proximity this is the perfect read for you. CW: loss of a loved one, parental abandonment, and one character is recovering from alcohol abuse.

One Happy Summer by Becky Monson is part of the Falling for Summer Series. Yep, I listened to a summer book in the middle of winter and christmas but I absolutely do not regret it. I loved this book, the island and the fun between the two characters. You have Presley, a movie star in hiding and Briggs, who's sort of hiding for his own reasons. A fun teen sister and mom. Several quirky island characters and maybe some paparazzi hiding in the bushes. And there is this little plot twist in the end that I just loved.

Mini Review

Just Three Words “Ethan Freaking Wyatt’. The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year by Ally Carter is a standalone. If you're looking for a mix between mystery, romance, and comedy this is the perfect book for you. Ethan might be one of my favorite MMC ever. I absolutely loved Ethan and Maggie's interactions. Once I started reading I didn’t want to stop and I was constantly laughing out loud. I haven’t seen knives out but the book description says if you like the movie you will love this book. I really loved the old movie Clue and this book gives me all those vibes but with a romance. I really couldn’t figure out who the culprit was & I had a lot of fun trying to figure it out along with the main characters. Some things I loved with this one Ethan Freaking Wyatt, the mystery, the butler, the unexpected plot twists, the perfect crime & the touch her and die scene!!! Some tropes included in this one are rivals to lovers, he falls first, an England setting, a holiday read, protective MMC, and a feisty MMF. Ally has written a lot of books but this one is written for adults. This book is what some might call closed-door. Some may call it low spice or fade-to-black.

Mini Review for this series. This is an audible series and here for it. I think this series has spoiled me. It has the slow burn romance and a good mystery actually there is about three mysteries in each book. So many secrets and fun. This audiobook series has a full set of cast and sound effects. It’s almost as if you’re watching it as a movie. And Cobie Smulders is amazing as the main narrator. And now it’s been turned into a hallmark series which I’m enjoying watching just as much. Perfect for the holiday season.

The Proximity Factor By Jennifer Peel

I must confess this is my favorite Jennifer Peel book yet. Parker is just a dream MMC, He’s the grumpy character with a heart of gold. And I just love Lanie. She's one of those characters you would love to have as a best friend. The setting is unique and I love the forced proximity in this one. It's definitely the first time I think the characters have been put together due to an experiment. I smiled every time I went to read this one and I didn’t want this story to end. And the bonus epilogue is one you will want to read. If you like grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, social experiments, age gap romance, enemies to lovers, and a southern mama who will do anything for her kids then this is definitely the book for you. If you're a fan of Gilmore Girls and the town antics you will love this one. Personally this gave me all the fun Hart of Dixie vibes. So I’m saying run, don't walk and grab a copy of this audiobook. This one is a keeper. Also check out her other books. I haven't listened to one yet that I didn't like.

Mini Review:

Wanted: Vampire’s Assistant by Dusty Rose. When I asked the author if this series needed to be read in order or if they can be read as standalone, she told me it was better to start from the beginning. And after finishing book one I completely agree although you can probably read them as standalone I feel like the world is just beginning to develop and I can’t wait to immerse myself more deeply into the stories of the townspeople of Moonhaven. The romance between the two is a slow burn and I loved getting to know Mia, Draven, and all of Moonhaven. The world of Moonhaven however is just beginning and you will want to know more about the other characters and continue in the series just as I do. I really liked Mia's character. She's sweet, fun, and even with the stressful situations she handles herself very well. The story line is written in Dual Point of View but with a bit more of Mia than Draven side but I feel like this is due to the storyline and definitely works for the story. There was a bit of mystery/some suspense which I always love in a book.
I also hope Mesmer gets his own story. And I can’t wait for Rhys story. So if you're looking for a whole new world here your chance go grab a copy of this closed door, paranormal, cozy romance.

Statistically Improbable by Jennifer Peel is a sweet, closed-door romance between two total opposites. That involves some fake dating between two professional matchmakers. Zander is considered a ladies man but he’s a sweetheart underneath afraid to commit with good reasons. Zander’s best friend Kenadie is getting married in this book so some of the book revolves around the wedding planning. This is the second book in the series but it’s the first book I've read so it can be read as a standalone. I hope to go back and read the first, which is Kenadie’s story.
Things I loved:
Meg, she was not what I expected and I just loved her character
The Matchmaking Company they work for it was a unique setting for me
The Nanette’s a group of fun southern ladies
Brotherly Pranks
Zander is considered a playboy in the book but he definitely meets his match with Meg
Great Chemistry between these two characters
As always with any book written by Jennifer Peel you can expect sweet, emotional, & fun moments. She knows how to write a book that pulls at your heart strings and makes you smile at the same time. When reading one of her books I want to live in the world forever.
Some Tropes included in this book are opposites attract, fake dating,& workplace romance. I listened to this one in audio and I always love the narration for her books. This one was no different and I hope to listen to the other two in the future. So grab an ebook copy or audiobook in this matchmaking series.
