Historia
In a small pocket of London, between the houses of No.77 and No.79 Eastbourne Road, lies a neglected community garden. It was a beautiful thing once, a little oasis in a bustling city for neighbors by day and the local foxes at twilight. Now it’s overgrown and neglected, an empty patch of greenery lost to time.

Very well written. Characters well developed and easy to relate to especially if you are person of older age. Also for older adults that relatability made this sad food for thought

Slow start
Revisado: 01-07-25
Overall I enjoyed this historical fiction. However, the beginning was slow to get to the main theme of the story. There may be a temptation to give up on it, but it does improve and was worth the read for those who like historical fiction. It was translated from French which may account for this.

Enjoyed this one even more than the first. The main characters were already developed and familiar so the reader didn’t get lost in those complexities. The story itself is complex, well developed with lots of twists and turns.

Good story, narration needs a little work
Revisado: 03-04-24
I am really enjoying this series. Good story complex enough to keep you guessing and characters that you can relate to. Interesting facts on vineyards and wine development. Being from this area in Va I really enjoy the accurate geographical setting and the historical research and facts presented in the story. The one criticism I have is with the narrator. The southern accent is way too strong, not typical of this area . Also some names are mispronounced. Mosby is with a long o sound and the ou sound in Loudon is pronounced as the ou in shout. That may seem like a small matter but when you have grown up in that area it stands out. Mosby for example was used over and over again so it starts to be a little annoying. All in all I still look forward to more in this series.
