Historia
In December 1992 three groups of teenagers head to the theater to see the movie version of the famed Eons & Empires comic books. For Adam it's a last-ditch effort to connect with the girl he's had a crush on for years. Passionate fan Sharon skips school in Cincinnati so she can fully appreciate the flick without interruption from her vapid almost-friends--a seemingly silly indiscretion with shocking consequences.

Any additional comments?
I enjoyed the characters in this story, even if I didn't LIKE them. The story moved at a good pace and kept me guessing how the characters would intersect. I'm not sure I want to be friends with any of these people, but their lives are interesting enough to read about.

Nailed the newsroom in 1999
Revisado: 05-05-15
What made the experience of listening to Attachments the most enjoyable?
I used to work as a journalist at a newspaper in 2000-2001 and I had a dear friend and we traded emails. She was married. I was not. It was almost as if Rainbow Rowell had written the book about us and then fictionalized it.
What did you like best about this story?
The friendship.
Any additional comments?
This book nails the newsroom from the late 90's/early 2000. So a must read for anyone who ever worked in a newsroom. And I think anyone who has ever had a work bestie would also love the friendship aspect. A light hearted read with a possibly too sweet and slightly unbelievable guy.

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

The best time travel book I've read
Revisado: 04-16-15
Any additional comments?
The problem with a really good book like 11.22.63, is that the next book you listen to won't be as good. Oh man, this book stuck with me. It is not only my favorite S.K. book, it may be one of my favorite books ever. In fact, at some point, despite it's length, I will probably listen to it again. If you love time travel or if you just love S.K., you must read this book.

A great start/horrible ending

Obviously I do not want to spoil this for anyone. I absolutely loved the beginning of this book but as it crept to the end, I found myself disliking where S.K. was going. And I shook my head at the ending. Maybe I people who enjoy horror more will like this better.

Entertaining but many flaws
Revisado: 04-16-15
Any additional comments?
First, I have to say Before I Fall is one of my favorite YA books. But unfortunately that was the first Lauren Oliver book I listened to and while I mostly enjoyed the Delirium Trilogy, almost every book of hers has let me down since. This was better than Panic, but only a little. However, it held my attention even though after I finished it, I just didn't feel as moved as I did with Before I Fall. (The only audio book I've listened to twice.) I think I may have liked this book better if I had a sister close in age to me. I also felt like Lauren was heavily influenced by E. Lockhart's We Were Liars. The best parts of the book were at the amusement park. I enjoyed the characters there and some of the comedic moments as well. I laughed out loud at one scene in particular. So this is overall worth listening too if you are in the mood for an easy YA book, or if you have a sister close in age.

Any additional comments?
It's difficult to review this book without spoilers. But this book was very fun to listen to, even though it did give me nightmares. I loved so many of the characters and thought they were well-developed. I couldn't stop listening because I had to know what was going to happen next. It did have a bit of a slow rev up for me, but I think it was intentional. This book made an afternoon of yard work enjoyable. They say it's going to be a movie, but I will not be able to watch it. It will decidedly be too scary for me to see.

Come for the time travel and stay for Harry
Revisado: 04-16-15
Any additional comments?
I admittedly am a time travel geek, so I was thrilled to discover this book. I was surprised at how much I cared about Harry. And I love that the authro didn't take it down the love story path completely. It would have been less of a book. The narrator was great and impressively nailed several accents. His accents for Victor were creepy and spot on. I also loved the concept of the Cronus club. In so many of the time travel books, the protagonist is so lonely in their journey. The club brought a nice twist to it.

Each "repeat," Brad wakes up in the womb on what was supposed to be his fortieth birthday, with full knowledge of what's come before. Laughed out loud but grimaced at all female voices
Revisado: 04-16-15
Any additional comments?
I really enjoy time travel books. I'll listen to any of them. I listened to this after the First Fifteen Lives of Harry August. They have a similar trope, but the execution couldn't be more different. This was funny. Really laugh out loud funny. (I'm sure I looked weird laughing on the stair stepper at the gym.) And I loved the narrator UNTIL he did female voices. Even the females I was supposed to like sounded dreadful. Overall, this was a good break for me after some more serious listens. (Harry and The Girl with all the Gifts.) I enjoyed the time period in which it was set-- it was a personal trip down memory lane for myself as much as it was for Brad. It doesn't take itself too seriously but it does have some surprising poignant moments. For anyone who loves time travel, go into this ready to laugh.
