Excellent book. The cold, hard facts are laid out plain as day. There never was an intruder, the ransom note was a written by someone living in the home and the killer was also someone who lived in the home. They have been lying for nearly 30 years.

Excellent book but you’d think the narrator would at least be certain to know how the last names of key players should be pronounced. Bouvier is not “Bow-vwar”, it’s pronounce Boo-vee-yay”. 😆

With her arrival on the music scene in the early 1980s, Madonna generated nothing short of an explosion—taking the nation by storm with her liberated politics and breathtaking talent. But Madonna was more than just a pop star. Everywhere, fans gravitated to her as an emblem of a new age, one in which feminism could shed the buttoned-down demeanor of the 1970s and feel relevant to a new generation. Deftly tracing Madonna’s story from her roots to her rise to super-stardom, master biographer Mary Gabriel captures the dramatic life and achievements of one of the greatest artists of our time.

Narrator Really Grates The Nerves
Revisado: 11-28-23
“Lords” 😆. How hard would it have been to get a narrator who could actually pronounce her daughter’s name correctly? A lot of this is clearly written by a huge fan w/ a major political agenda. You walk away from this book with a view that the subject really is a very warped, shallow and twisted woman who used and discarded a lot of people to get to the top and would do absolutely anything for money and attention — even to this day. The narrators tone really irritates.

THE Truth, Not “HER Truth”
Revisado: 09-05-22
This book goes far beyond just how shockingly horrid and vapid we thought this woman to be. She may be the most cold, ruthless, and calculating social climber and glommer that the world has ever seen. The author lays out, case by case, just how dispensable every human being is to her and how every relationship is transactional.
You read and learn that there is no level she will not stoop to and nobody and no situation she would not use to further her endgame; be it the cold ghosting of her own father, to dropping lifelong friends in exchange for more influential ones to intentionally stirring up racial division to personally profit from, to using dead children from a school shooting for a photo opportunity, to making, The Queens last days, strife with false racial accusations about her family and putting her through such distress and doesn’t seem to care one bit that she causes this elderly and frail woman who has devoted her life to her country, angst at the end of her life when it should be filled with nothing but joy at this moment.
It was almost unbelievable to read just how gullible her husband has been in not being able to see that this woman was trouble from day one and always leaves a trail of destruction in her wake.
If you want to know the truth about how this woman found her meal ticket and smuggled herself into the Palace and learn just how conniving and ruthless she is, I highly recommend this book. You won’t be able to turn the story off.

A Book With An Agenda
Revisado: 07-12-22
Though this book explains, in a round about wat the story of Epstein and how he went from a college drop out to one of the richest men and one of the sickest me.in the world by cheating others, there is a clear political slant to the authors book — he almost desperately and manically tries to tie Epstein to Trump, when there really isn’t anything there other than them being at the same community get togethers in Palm Beach. The author basically tries to make Trump a part of the Epstein’s sexual pyramid scheme. There is not one piece of evidence to tie the two together that way.
All the while, there is irrefutable proof that Bill Clinton made AT LEAST 26 trips on Epstein’s jet to “Little St. Jeff” and his ranch in New Mexico. Barely a mention was given to this fact and Epstein’s painting of Bill Clinton in the blue dress that hung dubiously in one of his homes. There is no record of President Trump ever flying aboard Epstein’s jet or being at ANY of his residences yet the author go in endlessly about the mere fact that Trump and Epstein knew each other.
One of the other disappointing aspects of this book was the detail given to the “suicide of Epstein” which we all know was never a suicide. Why was there no background info on the guards that were supposed to watch him? Why was there no attempt to interview them or explain the reasons why the security footage that night at Epstein’s cell conveniently wasn’t working?
Save your time and skip the book. It’s basically just a political hit-job w/ scant new information to the story.

Historia
Where were you the day Diana died? Like the assassination of John F. Kennedy, the tragic death of the Princess of Wales on August 31, 1997, is one of the defining benchmarks in history - an event that touched each of us so profoundly we will never forget the moment we heard the news. Twenty years after the Paris car crash that ended Diana's life at age 36, the story of her remarkable life and tragic death still have the power to mesmerize. Following her storybook wedding to Prince Charles, she had evolved from "Shy Di" into the most famous person in the world.

Based on interviews with more than 100 people in five countries, The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump draws an unprecedented portrait of the first lady. While her public image is of an aloof woman floating above the political gamesmanship of Washington, behind the scenes Melania Trump is not only part of President Trump’s inner circle, but for some key decisions she has been his single most influential adviser.

A basic hit-piece.
Revisado: 01-23-21
I chose the book out of curiosity about her life and hoped it’d be a fair account. I was sorely disappointed. There really isn’t one objective chapter written by the author. She seems to have a clear agenda and that is to write a degrading, salacious tell-all. Her contempt even seems to come out in her voice as she narrates the book, quoting “anonymous sources”. It mostly seems to be a book in the condemnation of the policy of enforcing strict immigration policies and how the President and First Lady are hypocritically “anti-immigrant” — when in actuality it isn’t that they’re “anti-immigrant”, it’s that they’re anti-ILLEGAL immigration. And, that one word (illegal) makes all the difference and is conveniently and repeatedly omitted from the immigration diatribe in this book. Would not recommend.

Historia
Over 13 months in 1976-1977, four children were abducted in the Detroit suburbs, each of them held for days before their still-warm bodies were dumped in the snow near public roadsides. The Oakland County Child Murders spawned panic across southeast Michigan, triggering the most extensive manhunt in US history. Yet after less than two years, the task force created to find the killer was shut down without naming a suspect.

A very well written book that shows great compassion for the families
Revisado: 10-11-20
I was born around the time these murders took place. I remember my family talking about it in the early 80’s and my dad explaining why he would not let me ride my bike into town alone and how awful things can happen as we lived near the area these things happened.
This book sadly reveals how Lady Justice in not blind as we have been told and there are two different tiers of the justice system — one is in place to protect those in high positions.
As hard as this was to hear, the book was laid out and told so well, Witt great compassion for the victims families.
There really is no such thing as closure but I think this book tells the truth about who did it. May God give grace and peace to families.

Historia
If the Bouvier women personified beauty, style, and fashion, it was their lust for money and status that drove them to seek out powerful men, no matter what the cost to themselves or to those they stepped on in their ruthless climb to the top. Based on hundreds of new interviews with friends and family of the Bouviers, among them their own half brother, as well as letters and journals, J. Randy Taraborrelli paints an extraordinary psychological portrait of two famous sisters and their ferociously ambitious mother.

I enjoyed this audio book very much. The narrator did a great job and there was such a treasure trove of information never know before. This may be one of the best books on Jackie, written. I gained a great appreciation for Lee. So glad this history has been captured.

Nonetheless, over the next decade their lives merged in inextricable and complex ways, and they forged a connection deeper than either could ever have foreseen.

Enjoyed this audiobook tremendously. It’s not a salacious tell-all — it’s a deeply personal tribute and account of a friendship. It made someone mythical in our minds, very human. Every word chosen with great thoughtfulness and care. This was a tribute.
