Historia
For Van and his crew, danger is no longer just among the stars. On earth, the Fafnir has drawn the attention of the most dangerous predator known to humanity—Bureaucrats. Between human enemies and alien allies, Van finds himself on the edge of a powerful change in his career. From the depths of his family history, an old enemy returns with plans for power at any cost. Just as his grandfather did fifty years earlier, Van will meet and challenge the threat of an ancient empire that spans deserts, stars, and time.

Very enjoyable
Revisado: 01-12-25
I consider this series “blue collar”in nature. It is not overly cerebral but still can make you think. I particularly enjoy the humor which consists of some 8th grade, some Dad and lots of sarcasm. Right up my alley! It has also forced me to look up some words I wasn’t familiar with. Another benefit! I think the narrator does a great job.

Historical facts will give you either joy or sadness. In this case, you will experience deep sadness as you go over some of the devastating nuclear accidents throughout history. You will be learning about what happened then and why it happened. The causes and results of such accidents should be taken into account for a deeper understanding of the risks of nuclear energy.

I enjoyed this work very much. Creative. My only frustration was it seemed to drag on at times without resolution.

Historia
On the first Sunday in December 1941, an armada of Japanese warplanes appeared suddenly over Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and devastated the U.S. Pacific Fleet. Six months later, in a sea fight north of the tiny atoll of Midway, four Japanese aircraft carriers were sent into the abyss. Pacific Crucible tells the epic tale of these first searing months of the Pacific war, when the U.S. Navy shook off the worst defeat in American military history and seized the strategic initiative.

Historia
Here is a gripping account of the major postwar trial of the Nazi hierarchy in World War II. The Nuremberg Trial brilliantly recreates the trial proceedings and offers a reasoned, often profound examination of the processes that created international law. From the whimpering of Kaltenbrunner and Ribbentrop on the stand to the icy coolness of Goering, each participant is vividly drawn.

Only for those who enjoy details
Revisado: 04-07-22
I think the orator is excellent and I enjoyed his cadence and voice. It is very detailed and repeats quite a bit much like the trial it’s self. I learned a great deal. The author seems to criticize the Americans a little too much but I understand that there are deficiencies in how the trial was administered by the Americans. I learned a lot and a couple of times it put me to sleep.

Historia
Between 1861 and 1865, the clash of the greatest armies the Western hemisphere had ever seen turned small towns, little-known streams, and obscure meadows in the American countryside into names we will always remember. In those great battles, those streams ran red with blood-and the United States was truly born.

This is a well done set of lectures with a great perspective on the Civil War of the United States. I think it was given without prejudice to either side and dispelled many miss beliefs. He’s an accomplished speaker and his cadence and clarity is appreciated.
